Calvin Sirmans had one of those days on Wednesday afternoon, scoring 36 points on 13-of-18 shooting to lead Keiser to another big win away from home, downing Johnson (TN) 91-63. The second-year guard did not forget to facilitate either, dishing out six assists on the afternoon.
Chris Roth tallied 17 for the Seahawks with five made threes. Just behind him was
Jackson Slater who notched his first double-digit scoring effort of the season with 11 from the field.
Vincent Miszkiewicz led Keiser with seven rebounds and added eight points in the win. The Keiser defense once again held their opponents well below their scoring average with Johnson averaging 89.1 points per game going into the contest.
Keiser will have a shortened holiday break before they get a big test on New Year's Eve, facing No. 3 Freed-Hardeman in Tennessee. Tipoff from the Brewer Sports Center in Henderson, Tenn. is set for 3:00 p.m. CST.
Jackson Kennedy capped a huge run for the Seahawks in the first half with a steal on one end and a dunk on the other to put Keiser ahead 37-17.
Keiser 46, Johnson 28
- For the fourth game in a row, Keiser opened the scoring with Calvin Sirmans hitting the early jumper
- Johnson would take the 12-10 lead into the first media timeout at 14:58, but Sirmans would hit a three out of the timeout to push his total to eight in the first five minutes and KU back in front
- The Seahawks would hold that lead for the remainder of the half as they went on a 24-5 run over the next nine minutes, capped by a Jackson Kennedy steal and slam to put Keiser up 37-17
- Jackson Slater and Chris Roth would each connect from three before the break, but it was Sirmans who had 20 in the first half to lead the way for the Seahawks going into the half up 46-28
Keiser 91, Johnson 63
- Johnson cut into the lead early in the second half, scoring nine of the first 12 points to make it just a 12-point lead for KU at the 16:14 mark
- Unfortunately for the Royals, it was just one of those days for Sirmans who scored seven in the next three minutes to put the Seahawks back up by 16, 60-44
- Roth would knock in three threes with Sirmans adding another six as Keiser extended their lead to 29 with 7:55 still to play
- With just over three minutes left in the contest, a majority of the starters were pulled for both sides as Keiser cruised to a 91-63 win

- Keiser improves to 11-1 on the year with the win
- The neutral site win is the first of the season and the only neutral-site game on the regular season schedule for KU
- The Seahawks will, however, need to make a trip back to Lakeland later this season to play Southeastern on January 8
- Sirmans nearly had a career-high night but needed two more points to tie his 38-point effort from last season
- He tied Roth with the most three-pointers made in a game this season with five, which Roth has now hit three times
- Roth finished with 17 points on the day, with 15 of them coming from beyond the arc
- With 11 points in the contest, Slater registered his first double-digit scoring game of the season
- 11 different players scored for the Seahawks with three going perfect from the field (Jonathan Paul, Jackson Kennedy, and Brady Canfield)
- Keiser shot 57.1 percent from the field which is a new season high and the best shooting percentage since their win over Johnson (FL) last season
- KU stayed away from mistakes, only turning the ball over five times in the game, a season low
