Keiser men's basketball opened their Sun Conference season with a win on Saturday afternoon, defeating St. Thomas 76-64 inside the Student Life Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Calvin Sirmans produced his highest-scoring game of the season thus far with 23 points. Sirmans also led the team with seven assists and three steals on a team-high 39 minutes of action.
Tyreon Payne had his first double-digit scoring performance for KU, tallying 16 points to go along with five rebounds and three blocks. The always reliable
Vincent Miszkiewicz needed all 38 minutes to record his 30th double-double for the Seahawks, totaling 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Keiser will hit the road for their first road game of the season on Tuesday night when they travel to Temple Terrace, Fla. for a matchup with Florida College. Tipoff from the Conn Gymnasium in Temple Terrace, Fla. is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Up eight points with 18:30 left in the game,
Tyreon Payne hit a layup that sparked a 13-0 run for the Seahawks that would eventually give Keiser their largest lead of the day at 45-26.

- Vincent Miszkiewicz opened up the game with a layup from an offensive rebound
- Six minutes in, the Bobcats got on the board with a three-pointer from Dalon Dean
- A jumper from Calvin Sirmans gave the Seahawks the five-point lead over the Bobcats
- Keiser lead was cut to two after a steal from St. Thomas resulted in a three-pointer
- The Seahawks and Bobcats exchanged three-pointers as St. Thomas took the lead 14-13 with 10:48 left
- A back-and-forth affair brought the Seahawks in front with a three-pointer from junior Jackson Slater

- The Bobcats started the scoring first with a three-pointer from Esteban Lluberes
- Kesier's scoring began after a steal and layup from Tyrone Payne, 34-26
- The Seahawks advantaged jumped to a 14-point lead with a three-pointer from Cameron Stitt
- The teams traded baskets before Sirmans put up his 20th point on a jumper from just outside the paint to put Keiser ahead 59-45 with 9:10 remaining
- Keiser managed to hold the lead at 14 to the four-minute mark
- The Seahawks coasted from there, hitting enough free throws down the stretch to secure the 76-64 win

- Keiser improves to 2-1 on the year with the win, closing out their three-game home stand
- The Seahawks also picked up their first win in Sun Conference action this season
- Sirmans led the way for Keiser with 23 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field
- When he wasn't scoring, he was assisting, as he also led the team with seven assists, a mark he has hit twice this season
- Tyreon Payne had his first double-digit scoring performance as a member of the Seahawks with 16 points on the day
- With 17 seconds left in the game, Miszkiewicz recorded his 10th rebound to secure another double-double
- Miszkieiwcz also recorded four blocks in the game to lead Keiser to their first double-digit block performance as a team
- Dennis played meaningful minutes throughout the contest, recording six points and seven rebounds in just 16 minutes
- It was the best shooting performance of the season thus far for the Seahawks who shot 50.8 percent from the field
