The Keiser women's basketball team suffered their first loss of the season this afternoon, falling to St. Thomas on a buzzer-beater three-pointer by the Bobcats. The Seahawks were led by Elliana Schaefer, who scored 25 points in the conference matchup. Elise Ellison recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 points and 10 rebounds

The Seahawks will return to action this Tuesday against Fort Lauderdale, with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m

First Quarter

  • The Seahawks struck first with a steal by Elliana Schaefer, leading to a layup for the game's first points
  • St. Thomas scored their first point four minutes into the game
  • A jumper from Avrie Schmidt extended the Seahawks' lead to five points
  • Aly Avrach's free throw brought Keiser to 10 points
  • Avrach followed up with a three-pointer with 2:41 remaining in the quarter
  • Free throws by Elise Ellison and Jade Simpson concluded the Seahawks' scoring in the first quarter
Second Quarter
St Thomas 20, Keiser 30
  • The Bobcats got on the board 20 seconds into the quarter with a three-pointer from Morgan Taylor
  • Taylor followed up with a layup, cutting the Seahawks' lead to four
  • Elliana Schaefer drained a three-pointer to keep Keiser in the lead
  • With 5:28 remaining, Avrie Schmidt hit a three-pointer, assisted by Mahiro Oyama
  • A jumper by Siera Bradford extended the Seahawks' lead to eight
  • With 13 seconds left, a free throw by Schaefer secured a 10-point lead for Keiser

  • A nine-point run by the Bobcats put the Seahawks in trouble, narrowing the gap to a one-point deficit
  • Caidyn Cannon scored a layup to bring Keiser back ahead by three points
  • Jade Simpson followed with a layup, keeping the Seahawks up 61-58
  • Multiple free throws from St. Thomas gave the Bobcats a 64-61 lead
  • With five seconds remaining, Elliana Schaefer made two clutch free throws to retake the lead for Keiser
  • As the clock struck zero, the Bobcats hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to win the game
