Keiser men's soccer fell today in a hard fought double-overtime loss to Southeastern. The Seahawks were able to rally for a late goal to force overtime, but ultimately fell on a goal in double overtime. 
How it Happened
  • Southeastern put the pressure on Keiser early and scored a goal just three minutes into the match
  • KU had a chance to tie the match in the 13th minute, but a header shot by Francis Bolland sailed high
  • Keiser's next best chance came in the 21st minute when Mikael Baisotti had a chance, but the attempt was saved
  • Another opportunity for Keiser came three minutes later, but a shot from Manu Cordeviola was saved
  • After the halftime break, the Seahawks were able to find some offensive momentum, outshooting the Fire 8-3 in the opening 25 minutes of the half
  • Still trailing by one with under 10 minutes to go, the Seahawks found themselves in a dire situation
  • In the 85th minute, KU finally broke through when Santiago Duque was able to power the ball past the goalie and into the left side of the net, thanks to an assist from Gabi Villafane
  • Keiser tried to steal the victory in the 89th minute, but a shot by Aldair Chavez was saved
  • The first overtime period was a defensive struggle with the Fire unable to muster a shot and the Seahawks having three shots from Chavez turned away
  • In the second overtime period, the Seahawks managed to set up a clean scoring opportunity in the 104th minute but the shot sailed high
  • Southeastern was able to quickly work the ball back to the Keiser side of the field and the Fire scored the game-winner forty seconds later

  • The Seahawks took nine shots on goal
  • Keiser outshot SEU, 27-10
  • The Seahawks took 14 corner kicks, a season-high
  • Santiago NebotTimo Boomkens, and Francis Bolland each played the full 104 minutes
  • Boomkens has played 90+ minutes in eleven matches this season. Bolland has played 90+ minutes in eight matches
  • Santiago Duque's goal was his fourth of the year
  • Villafane's assist put him in a tie for the most assists in the Sun Conference (8)
