Keiser men's soccer fought hard in a midweek battle this evening at Southeastern, with the game eventually ending in a 0-0 draw. The Seahawks kept the Fire off the scoreboard and put two shots on goal, but neither one found the mark as Keiser's record moved to 7-1-2.
The Seahawks will prepare for Senior Day versus SCAD-Savannah this Saturday. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. at Arrigo-Vecellio Field.
- The two teams immediately locked horns defensively, and Ryota Nakamura was able to record the first shot of the day in the ninth minute, but the attempt missed high
- In the 13th minute, the Fire had an opportunity down the middle of the field in front of the box, but Francis Bolland and the Keiser defensive backline were able to recover and force a shot attempt to be collected by Santiago Nebot
- In the next 11 minutes, four yellow cards assessed to Keiser slowed the momentum of the match and the KU offense to a crawl
- Nakamura fired a shot in the 14th minute that narrowly missed the SEU goal
- In the 37th minute, disaster nearly struck for the Seahawks as an SEU striker broke free and had a 1-on-1 opportunity with Nebot, but the attempt bounced off the crossbar and the post
- Coming out of the halftime break the Seahawks were aggressive, and a Jakob Schnitzler shot was on target but saved by SEU goalkeeper Esteban Navarrete in the 51st minute
- A shot by Juan Terressa in the 61st minute had a chance, but the ball rolled wide right
- In the next 15 minutes of defensive gridlock, neither team was able to produce a shot on goal
- Ethan Barimo had a lane in the 85th minute, but his shot was saved at the last moment
- The Seahawks were able to put a lot of pressure on the SEU defense in the final 10 minutes of the match, producing three shots
- However, the scoring opportunities proved unfruitful as the game came to an end 0-0
- This was the fourth time out of the last ten meetings between KU and SEU to end in a tie
- KU was charged with four yellow cards for the second straight game
- The Keiser's two shots on goal were tied with a season low (8/31/24 versus No. 6 Bethel)
- Keiser was able fend off eight SEU corner kicks
- Southeastern was held off the scoreboard for just the second time this season
- The Fire committed 18 fouls
- Santiago Nebot, Timo Boomkens, Francis Bolland, and Ian Garnero each played the full 90 minutes. Alessio Silva played 87 minutes
- Boomkens has played 90 minutes in seven matches this season
- Head coach Gavin Oldham is now 94-26-15 (58-11-5 SUN)

The Seahawks will host SCAD-Savannah this Saturday at 11 a.m. in West Palm Beach for Senior Day.
