Box Score Keiser men's tennis completed their third and final day at the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia on Saturday afternoon.
Shaheed Alam got out to a strong start in his semifinal matchup against Santiago Villarruel of Georgia Gwinnett, winning the first set 6-2. Villarruel evened the match at one set apiece with a 6-3 result in the second. The third set would also go the way of Villarruel as he replicated his second set performance with a 6-3 result. In the backdraw,
Didrik Liljekvist fell in his final match of the tournament to Daniel Garcia of Middle Georgia State 6-7(2), 6-3.
Head Coach
Robert McAdoo said, "Proud of Shaheed and the way he competed. Even then, I saw that he had opportunities with which he will have to take advantage next time he is in this position. The great thing is that we have a few months to fix the weaknesses and improve on the strengths. Didrik also gained much-needed experience during this tournament. I will be leaning on both of these guys come spring. I know they will improve and be up for the challenge that lies ahead."
