Keiser men's tennis wrapped up day one at the ITA Cup in Rome, Georgia with
Shaheed Alam advancing to the tournament quarterfinal.
Ranked No. 2 in the draw, Alam opened the day with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Zinovii Nahirniak of William Woods. It's the second straight season that he has faced a William Woods opponent and won in the first round. Alam will advance to the quarterfinal tomorrow to face David Leon of Tennessee Wesleyan. On the other side of the bracket,
Didrik Liljekvist fell in his opening match to Leon's teammate, No. 4 Octavio Volpi. Liljekvist will head to the backdraw for a match against Luke Geduldt of Union.
