No. 3 Keiser men's tennis opened the 2024 season with a neutral site win on Monday afternoon, defeating Division III, No. 12 Gustavus Adolphus at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., 7-0

doubles
  • Yassir Kilani and Heber Santos took the first doubles match on court two, defeating D-III No. 7 Gage Gohl and Tyler Haddorff, 6-4.
  • The Seahawks clinched the doubles point on court one with Soufiane El Mesbahi and Didrik Liljekvist besting D-III No. 4 Marco Siviero and Josh Christensen 6-4.
  • Gustavus Adolphus got their lone win on court three with Caleb Fridinger and Rafael Camargo Costa beating Shaheed Alam and Christian Foss, 7-5.

singles
  • No. 6 Alam scored the first singles point on court four with a 6-0, 6-0 win.
  • Santos and Simone Boscatto followed shortly after on courts five and six respectively to clinch the match.
  • Kilani and No. 5 El Mesbahi finished next with straight-set wins on courts two and one.
  • The final match of the afternoon was court three where No. 27 Liljekvist won a third set super tiebreak to clinch the shutout 4-6, 6-4, 12-10.

Coach's Corner

"It was great to get our first win of the season and my first win as the head coach of Keiser," said Head Coach, Robert McAdoo. "The young men have been working extremely hard in practice and it showed on the court this afternoon. We will keep improving, for we have high expectations."

Up Next

Keiser will have one of their toughest opponents ahead of them with a matchup against Division II, defending national champions Barry on Wednesday, January 31 in Miami Shores, Fla.
