No. 17 Men's Soccer Draws with Southeastern in Continued Match

The No. 17-ranked Keiser men's soccer team (3-2-3) notched their third tie of the season after today's match. The game against the Fire of Southeastern continued 10 days after the original began due to lightning in the area. The Seahawks lone goal came in the 72nd minute off the boot of Mikael Baisotti.

.How it Happened
  • The match originally began on September 16th and was called due to weather.
  • The first few minutes of play began with several fouls called on Keiser.
  • A shot from Southeastern was fired at the five minute mark.
  • Shortly after, Tristan Silva tried to get the Seahawks on the board but the shot would be blocked by a Fire defender.
  • A foul led to a penalty kick for Southeastern but Santiago Nebot would keep the score at zero with the save.
  • Two red cards were issued in the 29th minute, one to Southeastern and another to Santiago Duque.
  • The first half would end with each squad firing five shots.
  • A total of seven fouls were called before the game was delayed due to lightning in the area.
  • The match resumed today, September 26 at 11am with 28 minutes remaining.
  • Keiser fired two shots in the 64th minutes from Gabi Villafane and Mikael Baisotti.
  • Baisotti put the Seahawks on the board when he found the top left of the net off a pass from Tristan Silva.
  • Two minutes later, the Fire would tie the game on shot from Roque Viegas Jr reaching the low right corner.
  • The match would end with the Seahawks fighting for a goal while the Fire defense blocked all the shots.

  • The Seahawks would net their third tie of the season.
  • Mikael Baisotti scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season, he has scored three goals in the last four games.
  • Tristan Silva recorded his first assist as a Seahawk.
  • Keiser has not lost a game since September 3rd (2-0-2).
  • Both teams had a total of 14 shots in the continued match.
  • The Seahawks were called on 15 fouls while the Fire had just eight.
