No. 6 Keiser was unable to right the ship on Wednesday night in Hardeeville, S.C. as they fell to No. 12 SCAD 3-1. The Seahawks were able to get the momentum going into the half, tying the game with a goal from Marthe Taugbøl just before the break. Keiser outshot their opponents 12-7 in the second half, but the two shots on goal for the Bees were the only two to find the back of the net.

How it Happened
  • SCAD pushed forward from the start, creating a chance in the fifth minute as Abigail Siddall beat the keeper to put the Bees up 1-0.
  • Keiser would have a chance on the ensuing possession as Nynka Rucker fired a shot from close, but Katelynn Balsiger would make her first of many saves on the night.
  • The next big chance for the Seahawks came in the 26th minute, but Lauren Riley was not able to get everything behind the shot, and it trickled into the arms of Balsiger.
  • With 10 minutes left to play in the half, Riley fired a shot from eight yards out, but a diving save from Balsiger kept it out of the net.
  • In the waning seconds of the half, Marthe Taugbøl stepped up for a free kick and sent it on target as it bounced past multiple players and into the net to tie the game.
  • Seven minutes into the second half, a misplay on the Keiser back line allowed for a 1-on-1 chance for Ines Sommer who buried the opportunity into the bottom right corner to make it 2-1.
  • The Seahawks would have an opportunity to tie the game in the 75th minute, but once again, Balsiger made a kick-save on Riley's chance to hold the lead.
  • SCAD would add their insurance goal in the 79th minute as Siddall fired a shot into the upper left corner of the net to give the Bees a 3-1 lead and an eventual win.
