No. 9 Men's Soccer Tie Battlin' Bears in Two-Day Match

Location: Arrigo-Vecellio Field, West Palm Beach, Fla.

The No. 9-ranked Keiser men's soccer team (1-1-1) ended a two-day long game against the Battlin' Bears of Rocky Mountain College in a 2-2 tie. The Seahawks will continue their weekend series of games in a battle with No. 5 Lindsey Wilson tomorrow at 10AM.
 
With the tie, the Seahawks move to 1-1-1 on the 2023 season.


.How it Happened
  • This game originally started yesterday, September 1st.
  • In the first meeting of the two squads, the Battlin' Bears began the game on top with 1-0 lead with a goal in the 12th minute.
  • Rocky Mountain held the edge over Keiser totaling eight shots in the first half.
  • Two yellow cards were given out to each team during the first period.
  • Keiser entered halftime with a one-goal deficit. 
  • Just as the second half was starting, the match entered lightning delay and after two hours the game was scheduled to finish today (Sept. 2) at 10AM with 43:06 on the clock.
  • The Seahawks began with a rough start as a foul was called in the box leading to a penalty kick for Rocky Mountain leading to a 2-0 lead for the Battlin' Bears.
  • Later, in the 75th minute, a foul was called on Rocky Mountain leading to a prime opportunity for the Seahawks.
  • Mikael Baisotti netted the penalty kick to secure his first goal as a Seahawk.
  • Six minutes later, another foul was called on the Ballin' Bears leading to a second penalty kick of the day for the Seahawks.
  • Once again, Baisotti found the back of the net for Keiser to tie the game.
  • The Seahawks and Battlin' Bears finished the two-day long event with a final score of 2-2.

  • The Seahawks record sits at 1-1-1.
  • This marks the first match between Rocky Mountain and Keiser.
  • Mikael Baisotti scored his first two goals as a Seahawk, both on penalty kicks.
