LIVE STATS: SIDEARM STATS
- Saturday will be the tenth meeting between the Seahawks and Grizzlies with KU holding an 8-0-1 record across the series.
- The two have only played one neutral site contest and it came last year with the Seahawks winning 4-0 in Orange Beach, Ala.
- In that game, Seira Uko scored the opening goal just over one minute into the contest leading to head coach Mat Dunn's 200th career win.
- The Seahawks hold a 14-3-1 all-time record in season openers, 2-0 in neutral site matchups dating back to 2005.
- Not including the altered 2020 season, the September 2nd contest will be the latest season-opener since 2008.
- In August, KU was selected to finish first in the Sun Conference Preseason Poll, collecting 49 total votes including all seven first-place votes.
- Last year, Keiser finished with a 22-1-1 overall record.
- The 23 match unbeaten streak was the tenth longest in NAIA history lasting all the way to the NAIA National Championship Semifinal.
- Both of the top goalscorers from last season are back up front this season with Ramona Kannady and Lauren Riley looking to have another strong year.
- For the first time since 2020 the Seahawks will start the year without the Sun Conference Player of the Year on their side as Maja Henriksson(2x) and Kyoka Koshijima have graduated.
- Set to return on the backline will be NAIA All-American Marthe Taugbøl who looks to anchor the defense to another year of shutouts.
- Keiser will have plenty of new faces on the field as 10 newcomers join the 2023 squad.
- Georgia Gwinnett enters the game with a two-game advantage over the Seahawks having defeated Life and Montreat in 2-1 decisions.
- Saga Andersson earned Continental Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors with her team-leading two goals both coming against Life.
