The Sun Conference announced its nominees for five NAIA National Awards Day honors as voted by league membership.
Cole Stassi of Keiser men's lacrosse was chosen as a nominee for the A.O Duer Award.
Named in honor of the NAIA's former executive secretary who served the association for 26 years, this award has been annually presented since 1967 to a male and female student-athlete in any sport who has excelled in scholarship, character, and citizenship.
Cole Stassi, Junior, Holbrook, N.Y.
- Stassi graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.75 grade point average in Sports Medicine and Fitness Technology.
- The Holbrook, N.Y. native is the program's all-time leader in points with 170.
- Stassi set the Seahawks' record for assists in a game with seven in Keiser's first ever national championship victory versus No. 2 Indiana Tech.
- He was a second Team All-AAC selection, as well as an AAC All-Tournament team member.
"While Cole has broken and set program records and led us to a national championship, his greatest attributes are his character and work ethic," said head men's lacrosse coach
Patrick Johnston. "He leads by example in everything that he does in the classroom, weightroom, filmroom, practice field, and on gameday. He is one of the hardest working and most respected individuals I have ever known."
The national winners will be announced on September 15th.
