No. 3 Women's Lacrosse

No. 1 Women's Lacrosse Travels to Southfield, Michigan for NAIA National Championship

The No. 1 ranked Keiser women's lacrosse team will kickoff their NAIA National Tournament with No. 8 Benedictine on Wednesday at Blue Devils Stadium in Southfield, Mich. The Seahawks will be the first game of the day with the opening draw control set for 10:00 a.m.

  • Keiser has the lone win in the series with Benedictine.
  • The Seahawks defeated the then No. 1 ranked Ravens earlier this year on March 6 by a score of 13-12.

  • Keiser is looking to get back in the win column, coming off their only loss this season in the Sun Conference Tournament Championship.
  • The 15-1 start to the season is the second-best start to a season for a Keiser women's lacrosse team.
  • 2021 was the only other year that the Seahawks finished the regular season undefeated, that team went on to win the NAIA National Championship.
  • In postseason history, Keiser is 4-2 all-time at the NAIA final site with a 2-2 record in the quarterfinals.
  • Abbey Cannon continues to lead the team in assists and points with 29 and 56 respectively.
  • The all-around specialist, Talia Myers holds the top spot on the team in goals (37) and draws controls (78) while assisting the defense with top-5 numbers in caused turnovers and groundballs.
  • The mainstay of the defense continues to be Rebecca Gibson who has remained in the top-3 in caused turnovers in the NAIA with a program-record 51 this season. 
  • Gibson also tops the team in groundballs this season with 48 which is four short of the program's season record.
  • The goalkeeper position has been fluid all season with Cassidy Green leading the time in net with 10 wins and 60 saves this season.
  • Benedictine will be the quarterfinal opponent for the Seahawks, coming in with a 10-3 record this season.
  • Kaylen Moore and Courtney Frankfurth lead the scoring for the Ravens with 54 goals and 52 goals respectively.
  • The Ravens take their advantage in the draw control circle, ranking No. 1 in the NAIA in draw controls per game at 19.42 per contest. 
  • If the Seahawks were to advance, they would face the winner of the four vs five matchup in No. 2 Cumberlands and No. 5 SCAD on Thursday, May 4, at 5:00 p.m. in the semifinal.
