Keiser softball capitalized on Lizzy Small's fourth complete game shutout of the season to take game one this afternoon against St. Thomas. The Seahawks are now in third place in Sun Conference standings.

• Lizzy Small pitched her sixth career complete game shutout. (86 pitches)

• Kelsie Merriman picked up the lone RBI of the game on a sac-fly. 
• Macy Schaaf and Ashley Bullock each stole a base. 
• Schaaf scored the first and only run of the game and recorded two bunt singles. 

The Seahawks overcame the Bobcats in a low scoring game, and played a tight defensive game to keep STU off the scoreboard.

• After Macy Schaaf and Ashley Bullock reached on singles, and Schaaf stole third, Kelsie Merriman put Keiser on the board with a pop fly that was deep enough for the RBI.

• STU was able to move a runner to third base, but the Keiser defense held firm and recorded three ground outs in a row.

• The Bobcats led off the sixth with a single, but Lizzy Small caught a line drive and threw out the runner at first for a double play that ended the STU scoring threat.

• The Bobcats had their final chance to get a run across, but the tying run was left stranded on base when the Seahawks recorded the final groundout.

The Seahawks will conclude the series versus STU tomorrow in a doubleheader that will begin at 12:00 p.m.
