(rv) Baseball played Game One of the last home Sun Conference series of the year. The Seahawks fell short against the No. 18 Gyrenes on Friday afternoon. In the fifth inning, Bradley McLean hit a home run to left center to put the Seahawks on the board after being down by two runs. Junior, Anfernee Fernandez started on the mound for Keiser. Throwing five innings with six strikeouts. Keiser will play the last two home games of the season tomorrow afternoon and will close out the series against Ave Maria. 
Notables.
  • The Seahawks are now 24-18 overall and 7-9 in the Sun Conference. 
  • Keiser is listed at No. 5 in the Sun Conference standings. 
  • The tying run for the Seahawks was on second base with two outs in the bottom of the ninth. 
  • Bradley McLean hit his third home run of the year. 
  • Shortstop, Alejandro Macario hit a solo home run to center field to record his ninth home run of the season. 
  • The Seahawks pitching staff recorded a total of eight strikeouts combined as the Gyrenes only recorded four. 
  • Keiser is now 22-8 against Ave Maria at Silvester Jr. Field.

  • Anfernee Fernandez started for the Seahawks, he threw five innings and recorded six strikeouts.
  • In relief for Fernandez was Chuck Fishbaugh in the top of the sixth.
  • Freshman, Brandon Vasquez went in to pitch in the top of the ninth. 
  • After Vasquez faced two batters, Drew Lang went in to pitch. 
Seahawk Batters
  • Catcher, Bradley McLean went 2-for-3 with a home run to left-center and another hard-hit single to left-center in the bottom of the seventh. 
  • Alejandro Macario recorded two RBIs and two walks on the day as he went 1-for-2 with one run. 
  • Senior, Cyrus Grimes registered two singles today to get on base.
