The Keiser softball team secured the biggest series win of the
John Pryor era today versus No. 16 Southeastern. The Seahawks were defeated in the first game of a doubleheader 1-0, and took the rubber match 4-3.

Pitchers of Record: W: Hunter (10-4) L: Small (15-8)
- Lizzy Small went the distance, striking out a batter and allowing only one earned run. (116 pitches)

Keiser played a tight defensive game but were unable to push any runs across home plate.

- Southeastern scored the only run of the game with a sacrifice fly.

- The Seahawks had their final chance to tie or win the game, but were retired in order to force a game two rubber match.

- Maggie Miller started the game and struck out four batters over six innings. (80 pitches)
- Lizzy Small pitched the final inning in relief, and secured a save. (21 pitches)

Despite only recording two hits, the Seahawks stuck with Southeastern all game long, and capitalized on a big fifth inning to win their first series versus a ranked opponent since March of 2021.

- The Fire struck first with an RBI groundout.

- A Southeastern wild pitch allowed Molly Reid to tie the game.

- After the Seahawks loaded the bases, Keiser took the lead on a wild pitch that gave Tess McGann enough time to sprint across home plate.
- In the following at bat, Molly Reid whacked a 2 RBI double to right center that put KU up by three.

- Despite the Keiser lead, the No. 16 team in the country responded with a 2 RBI single that cut the KU lead down to one.

- After the Seahawks couldn't add any insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth, it was time for the Keiser defense to make one final stand.
- Southeastern got two runners on base with a walk and a single, but the Seahawks stood their ground and recorded the final out to take the series.

The Seahawks will face Fort Lauderdale this Monday for a doubleheader in West Palm Beach.
