The Keiser softball team completed the first conference sweep of the John Pryor era today with two wins at Webber International. The Seahawks won the first game of the day in a thrilling eight inning slugfest, and caught fire from behind the plate in the second game to secure a sweep of the weekend series.

• The Seahawks deployed four pitchers in the contest, and each of them pitched two innings. 
• Kelsie Merriman struck out two batters. (44 pitches)
• Maggie Miller struck out one batter. (39 pitches)
• Kaylie Araujo gave up one hit. (44 pitches)
• Faith Fournier got the win. (35 pitches)

• Lizzy Small hit a double, to extend her Sun Conference lead in that category.
• Ashley Bullock hit her first career home run.
• Macy Schaaf stole a base.

Keiser came out on top in a back-and-forth contest that saw the two squads combine for 17 hits.

• KU took a quick lead when Ashley Bullock crushed a solo home run to left field.

• The Warriors took the lead back on a bases clearing triple.

• Keiser responded and kept their bats hot in the third.
• Lizzy Small hit an RBI single up the middle to score Macy Schaaf.
• Tess McGann scored on a Webber throwing error. 
• Molly Reid knocked two runs in with a single that scored Kelsie Merriman and Lizzy Small.

• Webber got within one on an RBI single.

• Keiser nearly closed out the game in the seventh inning, but a two out, two strike RBI single sent the game into extras. 

Keiser 6, Webber International 5

• After Keiser took a late lead on a Kelsie Merriman RBI, the Warriors had their chance to tie or walk off the game. 
• WIU was able to get a runner on first, and advance the lead runner to third base.
• Despite the threat, the Seahawk defense stood its ground, and the series was secured when Tess McGann snagged a line drive in left field.

• Lizzy Small got the start, and pitched two innings. (49 pitches)
• Maggie Miller pitched five innings in relief, and picked up the win. (75 pitches)

• Ashley Bullock hit a double.
• Kelsie Merriman hit her first home run of the season.
• Tes DeBono hit the second home run of her career.
• Macy Schaaf and Ashley Bullock stole a base, and Tess McGann stole two. 

Keiser outlasted the Warriors in a high scoring game that saw both teams combine for 21 hits.

• The Seahawks picked up right where they left off after the first game, and scored the first run of the game on a Warrior error. 
• Ashley Bullock added an RBI single up the middle that brought home Tess McGann.
• Rylee Miller recorded a 2 RBI single that brought home Kelsie Merriman and Molly Reid. 
• Tes DeBono added another run with an RBI groundout.

• The Warriors answered the Keiser scoring frenzy with two singles that netted three runs.

• Ashley Bullock added to the Keiser lead with an RBI double.

• WIU tied the game with two RBI singles, and a sacrifice fly.

• Tes DeBono gave Keiser a lead that would last the remainder of the game with a solo home run to left field.

• Kelsie Merriman put Keiser up by two with her first home run of the season.

• Webber International was able to add a run on an RBI groundout, but the Keiser defense didn't flinch and recorded two outs in a row to secure a series sweep. 

"This was a hard fought, and really exciting series," said head coach John Pryor. "I was very proud of the energy we had this weekend, and I'm pleased that the team was able to navigate some tough situations in three very close games. We have a long way to go, but we have improved every week, and we are going to keep battling all season long."

The Seahawks will take on Thomas University in a three game conference series next weekend, with first pitch of game one set for 2:00 p.m. this Friday in Thomasville, Ga.
