Keiser Sweeps Webber International Series

The Keiser softball team completed the first conference sweep of the John Pryor era today with two wins at Webber International. The Seahawks won the first game of the day in a thrilling eight inning slugfest, and caught fire from behind the plate in the second game to secure a sweep of the weekend series.

  • The Seahawks deployed four pitchers in the contest, and each of them pitched two innings. 
  • Kelsie Merriman struck out two batters. (44 pitches)
  • Maggie Miller struck out one batter. (39 pitches)
  • Kaylie Araujo gave up one hit. (44 pitches)
  • Faith Fournier got the win. (35 pitches)

Keiser came out on top in a back-and-forth contest that saw the two squads combine for 17 hits.

"This was a hard fought, and really exciting series," said head coach John Pryor. "I was very proud of the energy we had this weekend, and I'm pleased that the team was able to navigate some tough situations in three very close games. We have a long way to go, but we have improved every week, and we are going to keep battling all season long." 

Up Next
The Seahawks will take on Thomas University in a three game conference series next weekend, with first pitch of game one set for 2:00 p.m. this Friday in Thomasville, Ga.
