Keiser Softball Takes Two Victories on Second Day of Space Coast Spring Games

The Keiser softball team got back in the win column today with victories against Cleary Cougars and the Park (Mo.) Pirates. 

Game One
Keiser Seahawks 9, Cleary Cougars 1
Pitchers of Record: W: Small (2-3) L: Terleckyj (2-3)

Seahawk Hurlers
  • Lizzy Small pitched five innings, and struck out two batters. (77 pitches)
Seahawk Batters
  • Lizzy Small hit two doubles, with three RBIs.
  • Tes DeBono provided Keiser with it's first home run of the season, a three run bomb.
  • Tess McGann stole a base, and scored three runs.
  • Lacee Travens collected two sacrifice hits. 
How it Happened
Keiser got off to a quick start, and ended the game in five innings.

  • The Cougars scored on a Seahawk error that netted CU their lone run of the game.

  • The Cougars stepped up the plate with a chance to extend the game, but went three-up, three-down, and the game ended with a run-rule Keiser victory.

  • Two batters later, an RBI single cut Keiser's lead down to two.

  • After Keiser couldn't add any insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth, Park had their final chance to extend the game, but went down in order to give Keiser the win.
