The Keiser softball team moved to 14-12 on the season after today's doubleheader versus Florida National. The Seahawks were defeated in game one, and scored four unanswered runs in game two to secure Keiser's first win against FNU since February of 2020.Â
Keiser Seahawks 5, Florida National 12
Pitchers of Record: L: Fournier (1-1) W: Kulis (10-4)
- Faith Fournier got the start, and struck out one batter over five innings of work. (102 pitches)
- Addison Fyles pitched two innings in relief. (27 pitches)

Keiser had a productive game hitting the ball, but errors proved costly, and a big third inning from FNU proved to be the difference.

- A wild pitch allowed FNU to score their first run of the day.

- KU tied the game with an RBI single from Molly Reid.Â

- The Conquistadors took the lead on a Keiser error.Â

- Florida National plated five runs in the third inning, with an RBI single, a sac-fly, a KU throwing error, and a KU fielding error.Â

- Another FNU run was scored with an RBI fielder's choice.Â

- Keiser got their last run of the game in when Madison Manning was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.

- FNU scored the final four runs of the day with three RBI hits, and Keiser was unable to answer in the final two innings.Â
Keiser Seahawks 6, FNU 5
Pitchers of Record: W: Small (10-6) L: Kulis (10-5)
- Lizzy Small went the distance in an eight inning game, and struck out five batters. (130 pitches)
- In addition to her pitching efforts, Lizzy Small scored two runs, picked up two RBIs, and went 2-3 behind the plate.
- Ashley Bullock hit a double, and scored a run.
- Molly Reid went 4-4 with an RBI.
- The Seahawks were able to rack up 14 hits and come out on top in a tightly contested extra inning game.Â

- Keiser went right to work in the first inning, and took an early lead on RBI singles from Molly Reid and Lizzy Small.Â
Keiser 2, FNU 4
- Florida National raced back out in front with three RBI singles.Â

- Florida National plated another run at the top of the fourth, with a sac-bunt.Â

- Keiser was able to cut into the lead with a Tess McGann RBI groundout.Â

- After a scoreless seventh inning, the international tie-breaker rule came into effect.Â
- In their turn at bat, FNU moved a runner to third with a Seahawk fielding error, but the Seahawk defense stood its ground and recorded three consecutive outs.
- In the last half of the inning, KU utilized a Macy Schaaf sac-bunt to move pinch runner Molly Woerner to third.Â
- With two outs on the board, Ashley Bullock was able to make the decisive play, and hammered a single up the middle to score Woerner and give KU the win.Â

The Seahawks will play a conference doubleheader this Tuesday at home versus Florida Memorial. First pitch of game one is set for 12:00 p.m. Â
