The Keiser Athletic Department announced the Seahawks HSS Athletes of the Month for the month of January on Wednesday. This month's winners, freshman swimmer
Liya Goupil and sophomore
Cole Wilson, have been recognized for their play during the past month.
The winners of the Seahawks HHS Athletes of the Month will be featured on ESPN West Palm (106.3 FM).
Liya Goupil, Fr., Reunion
- A two-time Keiser HSS Athlete of the Week during the month.
- Claimed the top spot in nine events over the month.
- Versus Nova Southeastern, she registered a personal best in the 100 Back, earning an NAIA Provisional time of 58.46.
- She set personal best in both the 200 IM (2:11.55) and the 500 Free (5:11.33) versus Ave Maria.
- Her performances helped lead the Seahawks to the No. 1 ranking in the NAIA heading into the Inaugural Sun Conference Championship.
Cole Wilson, So., Multis, Burgessville, Ontario
- Earned NAIA National Field Athlete of the Week with his performance at the RADD Sports Invitational.
- The sophomore was named Sun Conference Indoor Field Athlete of the Week for his performance.
- Wilson's point total is currently the second-highest heptathlon score in the NAIA.
- The Burgessville, Ontario Canada native holds an A-Standard qualification for NAIA nationals.
