The Keiser women's basketball team suffered a 59-56 loss to the Ave Maria Gryenes on Tuesday night. With the loss, Keiser dropped to 17-12 on the season as was eliminated from the Sun Conference Tournament.
Taylor Jones led all Seahawks with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting.
Julia Fitzwater grabbed a team-high eight rebounds.
The Gyrenes out-scored the Seahawks 16-8 in the fourth quarter to come away with the three-point win. Keiser held a five-point lead heading into the final frame but struggled from the field in the fourth, scoring just two points in 18 minutes of action.

Keiser 18, Ave Maria 9
- Elise Ellison-Coons got the scoring started with a made jumper at the 9:00.
- A 3-pointer by AMU's Casey Humphrey made it a 5-2 game in favor of the Gyrenes (8:04).
- The Seahawks used a 8-0 run capped off by a made jumper by Janiece Thomas to give KU a 10-5 lead with 4:04 on the game clock.
- Keiser closed out the quarter with a 6-0 run to take an 18-9 lead after one quarter of play.

- A layup by Kennedy Schlabach with 6:14 remaining in the half pushed Keiser's lead to 12 after a 6-0 run.

- Back-to-back 3-pointers by Julia Fitzwater (4:03 and 4:03) extended the Seahawk's lead to 13 (their largest of the game).
- AMU closed out the half with a 6-0 run as Keiser maintained a seven-point lead heading into the break.

- Ellison-Coons opened the second half with a bucket at the 9:42 mark (33-24).
- AMU tied the game with a 3-pointer by Emily Rapacz, 38-38 (5:53).
- With 3:11 remaining in the third, Taylor Jones gave Keiser a 42-39 lead with made layup off an assist from Elliana Schaefer.
- After the Gyrenes cut it to a one-point game (42-41), the Seahawks out-scored the Gyrenes, 6-2, to take a six-game lead going into the final 10 minutes of action.
Ave Maria 59, Keiser 56
- The Gyrenes tied the game with a jumper by Grace Field, 48-48, with 8:11 on the game clock.
- AMU took its first lead since early in the first quarter on a layup by Rapacz (7:10).
- Ellison-Coons responded with a layup off a pass by Schlabach to tie the game, 50-50 (6:54).
- The Seahawks were held scoreless over the next six minutes as AMU took a seven-point lead, 57-50.
- A 3-pointer by Schlabach with 53 seconds left in the game, cut the Gyrene's lead, 57-53.
