Keiser softball was unsuccessful today in a doubleheader versus Lynn University. The Seahawks were defeated in both games, and dropped to 2-2 on the season.

Records: Keiser (2-1) Lynn (3-2)

• Lizzy Small pitched six innings, and gave up four runs on seven hits while striking out one batter. (75 pitches)

• Kelsie Merriman and Lacee Travens each hit a double. 
• Ashley Bullock, Rylee Miller, Lana Hampson, and Lacee Travens all stole a base. 

Keiser got off to a solid start, but allowed the Knights to get back into the game with costly errors.


Keiser 1, Lynn 0

• Lacee Travens hit a double to right field that brought home Rylee Miller.  

Keiser 3, Lynn 0

• Tess McGann was able to draw a walk with the bases loaded. Rylee Miller scored her second run of the game on the play.
• Molly Reid hit an RBI single that scored pinch runner Lana Hampson. 

Keiser 3, Lynn 1

• The Fighting Knights hit a sac-fly to get on the board.

Keiser 3, Lynn 3

• An RBI single from Lynn put the Knights within one. 
• A critical Keiser error allowed the Fighting Knights to tie the game. 

Keiser 3, Lynn 4

• After Keiser was unable to add any insurance runs in the top of the inning, Lynn walked off game one with an RBI single.

Records: Keiser (2-2) Lynn (4-2)

• Maggie Miller was on the hook for the loss after pitching one inning and striking out two batters. (27 pitches)
• Kaylie Araujo, Kelsie Merriman, Faith Fournier, Addison Fyles, and Tes DeBono all made appearances in the circle.

• Macy Schaaf, Lacee Travens, Laura Axson, Kaylie Araujo, and Shannon Little all recorded hits. 

• The Seahawks got off to a sluggish start at the plate, and were unable to find their pitching rhythm from the circle. All of Lynn's runs came in the 4th, 5th, and 6th innings. 

Keiser 0, Lynn 1

• Lynn took the lead on an RBI single to second base.

Keiser 0, Lynn 4

• Lynn got a runner home on a Seahawk error.
• After that, the Fighting Knights were able to heat up at the plate, and got a run home with a hit-batter when the bases were loaded.
• Lynn added another run on a KU wild pitch. 

Keiser 0, Lynn 6

• Lynn added to their lead with an RBI single, and then a walk when the bases were loaded. 

After a week off, the Seahawks will be back at home for a doubleheader against Florida National on Tuesday, February 28th.
