No. 3 Football Collects School-Record 18 All-Sun Conference Selections

The 2023 All-Sun Conference Football Teams were announced on Thursday as voted on by the league's eight head coaches. This year's teams feature 27 first-team selections, and 27 second-team honorees.

Keiser recorded a program-record  18 all-conference honors, including 10 on the first team and eight on the second team.

The Sun Conference Position Awards (Back of the Year, Receiver of the Year, Offensive Lineman of the Year, Defensive Lineman of the Year, Linebacker of the Year, and Defensive Back of the Year) will be announced on later today.

SUN Conference Awards for Offensive Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Special Teams Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year, Assistant Coach of the Year, and Champion of Character will be announced on Friday afternoon.
 

First-Team All-Conference

Defensive Line

Jertavis Black, Junior, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
  • Named to the first team for the first time in his career.
  • Started in all 10 games for the Seahawks this season.
  • Recorded 29 total tackles (15 solo) with a team-leading 10.5 tackles for loss.
  • Leads the team and ranks No. 4 in the conference in sacks (6.0).
  • Also record two pass breakups, three quarterback hurries, and one forced fumble.
 

Defensive Back
Justin Carcel, Sophomore, Port St. Lucie, Fla.
  • Earned first all-conference honor of his career with a first-team selection.
  • Started all 10 games for the Seahawks.
  • Posted 33 total tackles (24 solo).
  • Tied for second on the team in pass breakup (10).
  • Fourth in the conference in passes defended (pass break ups and interceptions), 1.00 per game.
 

Offensive Line
Roderick Carter, Junior, West Palm Beach, Fla.Roderick Carter
  • Named to the first team on the offensive line for the first time in his career.
  • Started in eight games at center for the Seahawks.
  • Is part of an offensive line that has helped Keiser register 1,965 on the ground with 33 rushing touchdowns (second most in a single season at Keiser).
  • Keiser ranks No. 16 in the NAIA in rushing yards per game (196.9) and is No. 4 in rushing touchdowns.
  • Has protected a Seahawk passing game which has recorded 1,900 yards passing (tied for third all-time at Keiser) with 14 passing touchdowns.
 

Tight End
D'Andre Golden, Sophomore, Norcross, Ga.
  • Garnered first-team all-conference recognition for the first time in his career.
  • Appeared in 10 games for the Seahawks, starting in eight.
  • Leads the team with 29 catches for 452 yards (No. 8 in the Sun Conference).
  • Tied for the team lead in receiving touchdowns (5).
  • Recorded the longest touchdown reception of the season with a 63-yard score at Valdosta State (9/16).
 

Offensive Line
Scarlee Jean, Junior, Riviera Beach, Fla.Scarlee Jean ALL-SUN
  • Earned first team honors on the offensive line for the first time in his career.
  • Started in all 10 games at left tackle for the Seahawks.
  • Is part of an offensive line that has helped Keiser register 1,965 on the ground with 33 rushing touchdowns (second most in a single season at Keiser).
  • Keiser ranks No. 16 in the NAIA in rushing yards per game (196.9) and is No. 4 in rushing touchdowns.
  • Has protected a Seahawk passing game which has recorded 1,900 yards passing (tied for third all-time at Keiser) with 14 passing touchdowns.
 

Defensive Back
Kensly Johnson, Junior, Jacksonville, Fla.
  • Garnered first-team accolades for the first time in his career.
  • Started all 10 games for the Seahawks.
  • Tallied 16 total tackles (12 solo) with 2.5 tackles for loss.
  • Leads the team and the conference with 12 pass break ups (tied for No. 4 in the NAIA).
  • Is tied for tops in the conference in passes defended (pass breakups and interceptions) with an average of 1.20 per game.
 

All-Purpose
Jaden Meizinger, Junior, Port St. Lucie, Fla.
  • Earned first team honors at all-purpose for the first time of his career.
  • Started all 10 games for the Seahawks.
  • Has rushed for 922 yards and caught 15 passes for 130 yards to record 1,052 all-purpose yards this season.
  • Posted 16 rushing touchdowns this season (second most in program history), ranking second in the SUN in points (96).
  • A two-time Sun Conference Offensive Player of the Week winner this season (9/11 & 10/2).
 

Defensive Back
Wendol Philord, Junior, Miramar, Fla.DB Wendol Philord
  • Named a first-team selection as a defensive back for the third straight season.
  • Started all 10 games for the Seahawks.
  • Notched 36 total tackles (29 solo) with 9.0 tackles for loss.
  • Posted two interceptions, including a 37-yard return for a touchdown versus Southeastern (10/21).
  • Also had six pass breakups, two fumble recoveries, and ranks No. 8 in the SUN in passes defended (8).
 

Return Specialist
Wendol Philord, Junior, Miramar, Fla.Return Wendol Philord
  • Collected first-team all-conference honors as a return specialist for the second straight year.
  • Started all 10 games for the Seahawks.
  • Leads the conference (No. 4 in the nation) in punt return yards (17.1 per game) and is third in the SUN (No. 9 in the nation) in kick return yards (26.6 per game).
  • Was named the Sun Conference Special Teams Player of the Week four times in 2023.
 

Linebacker
Jaelin Willis, Junior, Fort Myers, Fla.
  • Earned first team honors as a linebacker for the second time of his career.
  • Started all 10 games for the Seahawks.
  • Leads the team in total tackles with 61 (34 solo) – No. 7 in the Sun Conference.
  • Collected 6.0 tackles for loss, 4.0 sacks, one interception, three pass breakups, and an NAIA-best six forced fumbles.
  • Named the Sun Conference Defensive Player of the Week (10/9).





Second-Team All-Conference

Linebacker
Tre'von Cooper, Sophomore, West Palm Beach, Fla.Tre'von Cooper
  • Named to a second-team all-conference selection for the first time.
  • Appeared in all 10 games, starting in three.
  • Recorded 21.0 total tackles (14 solo).
  • Notched 5.0 tackles for loss and 3.0 sacks
  • Part of a defense that has registered 30 sacks (third most in program history) and has forced 18 fumbles (second most in program history).
 

Kicker
Luke Creber, Sophomore, Palm City, Fla.Luke Creber ALL-SUN
  • Named to SUN All-Conference Second Team for the first time in his career.
  • Registered 38 points this season.
  • Is a perfect 6-of-6 in field goal attempts, including a Seahawks record-tying 48-yard field goal versus Southeastern (10/21).
  • Produced 1,978 yards on 32 kickoffs, averaging 61.8 yards per kick, including 13 touchbacks.
  • Was named Sun Conference Special Teams Player of the Week and NAIA Special Teams Player of the Week.
 

Punter
Matthew Disisto, Junior, Boynton Beach, Fla.Matthew Disisto
  • Selected to the SUN All-Conference Second Team for the first time in his career.
  • Made appearances in 10 games for the Seahawks.
  • Leads the team and the conference in yards per punt (40.1).
  • Registered 29 punts on the year with 14 inside the 20-yard line.
  • Notched five punts longer than 50-yards, including a career-best 60-yarder versus Thomas (Ga.) (9/30).
 

Offensive Line
Sala Lologo, Senior, Oceanside, Calif.Sala Logolo ALL-SUN
  • Selected to the All-Sun Conference Second Team for the second straight year.
  • Appeared in all 10 games for the Seahawks, starting in nine at left guard.
  • Is part of an offensive line that has helped Keiser register 1,965 on the ground with 33 rushing touchdowns (second most in a single season at Keiser).
  • Keiser ranks No. 16 in the NAIA in rushing yards per game (196.9) and is No. 4 in rushing touchdowns.
  • Has protected a Seahawk passing game which has recorded 1,900 yards passing (tied for third all-time at Keiser) with 14 passing touchdowns.
 

Defensive Back
Louis Lubin III, Sophomore, Orlando, Fla.
  • Named to the Sun Conference Second Team for the first time.
  • Started in all 10 games for the Seahawks.
  • Recorded 21 total tackles (17 solo) with 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack.
  • Picked off two passes this season while breaking up 10 passes (tied for No. 2 in the in the SUN).
  • Tied for the lead in the conference in passes defended (pass breakup and interceptions), averaging 1.20 per game.
  • Also recovered one fumble and blocked a kick in 2023.
 

Defensive Line
Monte Toney, Senior, England, Ark.Monte Toney ALL-SUN
  • Selected to the All-Sun Conference Second Team for the first time.
  • Started eight games for the Seahawks.
  • Recorded 25 total tackles (16 solo).
  • Posted 3.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, and two pass breakups.
  • Part of a defense that has registered 30 sacks (third most in program history) and has forced 18 fumbles (second most in program history).
 
 
Quarterback
Bryce Veasley, Senior, Southfield, Mich.
  • Garnered Second-Team All-Sun Conference honors for the first time.
  • Started in all 10 games for the Seahawks.
  • Completed 68.93 percent of his passes (142-of-206) for 1,673 yards and 14 touchdowns.
  • Leads the conference in completion percentage.
  • His 1,673 passing yards are the third most in a season at Keiser.
 

Offensive Line
Chris Wehnert, Sophomore, Tampa, Fla.
  • Named to SUN All-Conference Second Team for the first time in his career.
  • Appeared in 10 games for the Seahawks (at center and left guard), starting in three.
  • Is part of an offensive line that has helped Keiser register 1,965 on the ground with 33 rushing touchdowns (second most in a single season at Keiser).
  • Keiser ranks No. 16 in the NAIA in rushing yards per game (196.9) and is No. 4 in rushing touchdowns.
  • Has protected a Seahawk passing game which has recorded 1,900 yards passing (tied for third all-time at Keiser) with 14 passing touchdowns.



The Seahawks will host a second-round game in the NAIA Football Championship Series on Saturday, November 25 (opponent yet to be determined). Kickoff from the Keiser Multi-Purpose Field is set for 1:00 PM.
