No. 19 Men's Soccer Powers Past Royals with Chavez's Hat Trick

The No. 19-ranked Keiser men's soccer team (5-3-3) shut out the Royals of Warner University, 6-0, at home Wednesday afternoon. The Seahawks were led by Aldair Chavez, who recorded the first hat-trick of his career and added an assist to his impressive performance. Freshman Mikael Baisotti also had quite the day, recording two goals and two assists.

.How it Happened
  • The match would start off with Keiser playing against the wind on Arrigo-Vecellio Field as Timo Boomkens would go for the header and have it land just wide of the net after a corner kick from Jack Casey in the first three minutes of play.
  • The Royals had several fouls called on them in the first 25 minutes of play, one leading to a penalty kick for the Seahawks.
  • Mikael Baisotti netted the penalty kick for his fifth goal of the season and for Keiser to take the 1-0 lead in the 28th minute.
  • Three minutes later in the 31st minute, Finn Syson scored his first career goal with the help from Baisotti.
  • The Seahawks headed in to half time with a two-goal lead over the Royals.
  • Just after the half, Warner fired a shot that landed wide of the net.
  • The Seahawks fired back with Baisotti recording his second goal with an assist from Aldair Chavez to make it 3-0 at the 48-minute mark.
  • One minute later, Baisotti and Chavez would play uno-reverso with Chavez netting his first goal and Baisotti recording his second assist in the match.
  • Chavez scored his second goal of the match when he went one-on-one with the Royals keeper.
  • In the 79th minute, Chavez then recorded the first hat-trick of his career when a shot from Belmin Ramdedovic rebounded off the keeper for Chavez, who took full advantage and secured the goal for the 6-0 edge over the Royals.
  • The remainder of the game would have shots fired from Ramdedovic, Alexander Stéen and Tristan Silva with Warner's keeper saving them all.
  • The match ended with back-to-back fouls called on Warner and Keiser.
   Game Notes
  • The Seahawks record advances to 4-1-2 in Sun Conference play.
  • Aldair Chavez netted the first hat-trick of his career and added an assist on the impressive day.
  • Mikael Baisotti was not too far behind Chavez recording two goals and two assists. He continues to hold the team lead in goals with six.
  • Finn Syson made his second start of the season and scored his first goal as a Seahawk.
  • Scott Wood made an appearance for the fourth time this season.
  • George Freer appeared on the pitch for the first time as a Seahawk.
  • The Seahawks defense would be a strong suit in today's match as Santiago Nebot got the clean sheet without recording a save.
  • The Royals had over 20 fouls called on them while the Seahawks only recorded 11.
  • Keiser fired 13 shots on goal while Warner could not get a shot on net.
  • Only one yellow card was handed out in the match which went to a Royals player.
  • The Seahawks scored a season-high of six goals in today's match.
