The No. 6-ranked Keiser football team amassed 550 yards of total offense in a 54-7 rout of Ave Maria on Saturday night.
Jaden Meizinger rushed for 109 yards and three touchdowns while
Andrew Burnette notched 70 yards and a score. Quarterback
Bryce Veasley 12-of-14 passes for 241 yards and two touchdowns.
Wendol Philord recorded his second punt return for a touchdown this season with a 69-yard return early in the first quarter.
Saturday marked the third straight game of the Seahawks in which Keiser scored 50-or-more points.
Defensively, Keiser held the Gyrenes to 273 yards of total offense while forcing three turnovers.
Keiser 17, Ave Maria 0
- On the Gyrenes' first possession of the game, linebacker Jaelin Willis forced his sixth forced fumble of the season with a strip sack of quarterback Logan Howard.
- The fumble was recovered by Tivon Sutton at the Ave Maria 14-yard line with 12:25 left in the first.
- Off of the turnover, Keiser took a 3-0 lead following a 29-yard field goal attempt by Nico Cavanillas (11:06).
- After forcing AMU to punt on its next possession, Wendol Philord returned the Gyrene punt 69 yards for a touchdown.
- With the made extra point, Keiser led, 10-0, with 8:10 on the game clock.
- Later in the quarter, the Seahawks used a 10-play, 67-yard drive to extend their lead.
- Jaden Meizinger scored the first of three touchdowns with a five-yard run, making it a 17-0 game (1:14).
Keiser 34, Ave Maria 7
- Following and 82-yard pass from Bryce Veasley to Seth Rolle, putting the ball on the AMU three-yard line, Meizinger scored his second rushing touchdown on the half.
- After the made extra point, Keiser led, 24-0 with 12:13 remaining in the half.
- The Gyrenes got on the board with a 34-yard touchdown run by Bryan Stiemke, 24-7, with 9:33 on the clock.
- Keiser responded with a 63-yard touchdown run by Jaden Meizinger to push the lead back up to 24 with 8:15 left in the first half.
- Cavanillas added three more points for the Seahawks with a 23-yard field goal (2:01)
- AMU tried to answer but an interception by Louis Lubin III halted the Gyrene drive.
Keiser 47, Ave Maria 7
- The Seahawks opened the second half with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Veasley to Louis Averhart III.
- The extra point was no good as Keiser led, 40-7, with 11:41 left in the third.
- Veasley completed his second touchdown pass of the quarter, connecting with D'Andre Golden for a two-yard score, 47-7 (7:11).
Keiser 54, Ave Maria 7
- Andrew Burnette rushed for a 40-yard touchdown to push Keiser's lead to 54-7 with 14:51 left in the game.
- Ave Maria made one last attempt to find the endzone late in the fourth but freshman defensive back Melik Cooper intercepted Howard's pass in the endzone with 4:23 left in the game.
- The Seahawks ran out the clock to end the lopsided victory.

- The win moves the Seahawks to 49-15 all-time.
- Saturday marked the sixth meeting all-time between the two teams with the Seahawks improving to 5-1 all-time versus the Gyrenes.
- The 54 points scored by the Seahawks were the seventh-most in program history and the most points Keiser has scored versus AMU all-time.
- The 47-point win was the most-lopsided victory in the series.
- With the win, Keiser remains perfect in Sun Conference play all-time (11-0).
- With the win, the Seahawks move to 31-3 all-time in conference play (SUN & MSC).
- The win also improves Keiser to 25-10 all-time on the road.
