The No. 16-ranked Keiser men's soccer team extinguished the Fire of Southeastern in a Wednesday night showdown. The two squads came out to play while the Seahawks held the upper hand coming out with a 2-1 victory. Sophomore midfielder Finn Syson broke the match open with his third goal of the season in the 60th minute. 

.How it Happened
  • As the two minutes of action began, Keiser was in full force wanting to score when Malcom McAlliser landed a shot straight in the hands of the goalkeeper.
  • Moments later, the first corner kick of the night was awarded in the favor of Keiser's Jack Casey. The Fire ended up with possession shortly after the kick.
  • Possession ran back and fourth between the two squads until the 40th minute when a red card was dealt to Southeastern midfielder Johan Jimenez.
  • The Seahawks fired two shots on goal in the first half and had 10 fouls called on them.
  • The second half of play began with two fouls called on both the Fire and the Seahawks.
  • In the 48th minute, Emanuel Teixeira was handed a yellow card and minutes later, a Southeastern midfielder was dealt one as well.
  • Nonetheless, that didn't stop the momentum of the Seahawks. After a pass from Aldair Chavez found the boot of sophomore Finn Syson, Keiser took a 1-0 lead in the 60th minute. 
  • The Fire were not going down without a fight as they fired a shot just wide right one minute later.
  • Southeastern tied the game up at one a piece after the Fire was award a penalty kick after a foul was called on Keiser.
  • Keiser fired three shots before Mikael Baisotti netted the ball in the top left corner after a cross from none other than the SUN assist leader Jack Casey in the 74th minute.
  • The Fire would do their best to tie the game back up with back-to-back shots after corner kicks which landed just right of the net. 
  • Southeastern hit the post in the 82nd minute and the Seahawks avoided the draw.
  • The Seahawks came close to extending their 2-1 lead but were called offside just two minutes before the match ended.
   Game Notes
  • Keiser's record moves up to 8-3-4 on the season and 7-1-3 in the Sun Conference.
  • Before the match started, the NAIA released the seventh poll of the season with Keiser moving up to No. 16.
  • The Seahawks record advances to 6-4-2 against the Fire on the road.
  • Finn Syson made his presence known as he recorded his third goal of the season, his second in the last two games.
  • Mikael Baisotti netted his ninth goal of the season and is tied with Aldair Chavez as team-leader.
  • Chavez additionally recorded an assist on the Syson goal
  • Senior Jack Casey now has seven assists, just five shy of tying the school record in a season.
  • Keiser was impressive defensively as they were outshot 11-8 but kept the Fire off the board outside of the penalty kick.
  • Three yellow cards a piece where distributed to each team in tonights match. 
  • Southeastern was handed a red card, their third this season.
