No. 6 women's soccer excelled through muggy conditions in Hardeeville, S.C, as they shut out the defending NAIA National Champions from Tennessee Southern, 3-0.
Kyoka Koshijima continued her scorching-hot senior year with the opening goal while adding an assist to cap her day.
- The Firehawks began with aggression early, forcing Grace McClellan to make two diving saves in the first three minutes of the contest.
- A failed clearance by UTS in the 25th minute fell perfectly to Kyoka Koshijima who ripped her fourth goal of the season into the lower left corner of the net to give the Seahawks the 1-0 lead.
- With 37:25 showing on the clock, inclement weather forced the stoppage of play for just over 30 minutes.
- Lauren Riley extended the Seahawks lead in the 43rd minute off a cross from Koshijima to give KU a 2-0 lead going into the half.
- In the 54th minute, Chelsie Hay got her first goal as a Seahawk from a free-kick by Maja Henriksson to put Keiser up 3-0.
- Fouls and yellow cards would be exchanged in the final 30 minutes but no real chances were had by either side as Keiser picked up their fourth straight shutout victory.
