Keiser men's tennis officially eliminated all outside threats of competition on Saturday at the ITA Regional Championship in Boca Raton, Fla. The Seahawks went 3-1 in doubles action before weather delays stopped singles play from completing.

It's never easy to defeat an opponent, let alone your teammates, but Yassir Kilani and Shaheed Alam proved that they were the top seed for a good reason. The duo began the day with an 8-4 win over Tryakshin and Stoica from SCAD to secure a spot in the semifinal. Christian Foss and Jesse Den Hartog took care of business in their quarterfinal, defeating Ave Maria's Erhardt and Orihuela 9-8(4) to set up the all-Keiser semifinal. Kilani and Alam would take down their teammates 8-6 to move into the final of the doubles tournament where they will face Martin Carrizo and Soufiane El Mesbahi.



Head Coach Daniel Finn said, "Although we were really just able to get doubles in today, I'm really happy with the performance that we were able to put on and secure an all Keiser doubles final. Just like all week, you are dealing with elements, injuries, and discomfort, but to see the boys compete, battle, and find ways to win the big moments is welcoming. Of course, we wished that the weather would have held up so that we could have gotten our semifinals of singles done, but it is what it is. Now we can rest up tonight and get ready for an all Keiser day tomorrow."
