No. 5 Keiser Women's Lacrosse coasted past the Gyrenes on Friday afternoon in Williamsburg, Kentucky. The Seahawks are set to play No. 2 Cumberlands for the third time in the MSC Championship on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
Keiser 6, AMU 0
- Melanie Brown opened the scoring for the Seahawks at the 13:55 mark.
- Back-to-back goals by Talia Myers put KU up 3-0 with 9:08 left in the first.
- Less than a minute later, Sydney Passaro registered her first goal of the game to increase the advantage to 4-0.
- Ashtyn Stoor broke through with 4:58 to play putting Keiser ahead 5-0.
- Brown netted her second goal with 33 seconds left to give the Seahawks a 6-0 lead into the second quarter.
Keiser 10, AMU 0
- Keiser was out and running in the second as Chloe Foley registered the opener.
- Leanza Gibaud and Rachel McLaughlin added two more with just over six minutes left in the half to put KU up 9-0.
- With 1:11 left in the half, Bridget Reddington became the eighth different scorer for the Seahawks extending the lead to 10-0 going into the half.
Keiser 14, AMU 1
- Brown completed her hat trick with 12:23 left in the third extending the Keiser lead to 11-0.
- Just three minutes later, Myers notched her hat trick to up the KU lead to 12-0.
- With 6:18 on the clock, Passaro made it a 13-0 game with her second of the afternoon.
- The Gyrenes got on the board with 3:43 to play in the third quarter.
- Madison Andrews picked up her first goal with 37 seconds left in the quarter to give Keiser a 14-1 lead going into the fourth.
Keiser 18, AMU 4
- Andrews kept the momentum rolling into the fourth with her second goal just 13 seconds into the quarter.
- Passaro notched her second hat trick of the season with 13 minutes to play in the game.
- Valeria Lomaglio got on the scorer's sheet before Andrews finished her hat trick to make it an 18-1 game with 9:39 to play.
- The Gyrenes would go on to score three unanswered goals to close out the game as Keiser would win 18-4.
- 2: Five different players registered two draw controls for KU.
- 3: Rebecca Gibson caused three turnovers in the game to lead Keiser.
- 3/4: Andrews, Brown, Myers, and Passaro each had three goals and four points on the day.
