Track and Field Claims Four All-America Honors After Second Day of NAIA Indoor Championship

Keiser men's and women's track and field wrapped up day one at the NAIA Indoor Track and Field National Championships with four All-America honors. Cole Wilson, Nigel Steenwinkel, and Harriet Tuson all earned All-America honors with their performances on Friday.

Shyann Jackson, Sophomore, Kissimmee, Florida
  • Competed in the 200-meter dash, posting a 25.45 time in the prelim to earn 27th place.
  • Ran the 400-meter dash prelim with a time of 57.09 for an 11th place finish.
  • Her 400-meter dash broke her previous school record in the event for the third time this season.

Melvin Johnson, Junior, West Palm Beach, Florida
  • Finished 9th overall in the 60m Dash with a time of 6.84 seconds.
  • In the 200m Dash, Johnson took home a 20th place finish with a time of 20.94.

Charles McCord, Freshman, Central, South Carolina
  • Recorded a 6.66m distance in the men's long jump to finish 24th overall.
  • McCord will compete in the men's triple jump on Saturday, March 5th beginning at 1:30 p.m.

Nigel Steenwinkel, Freshman, Zoetermeer, Netherlands
  • Garnered All-American honors in the men's heptathlon after an eighth-place finish with a personal best 4,721 points.
  • Set personal bests in the shot put, 60m hurdles, pole vault and 1000m
  • His points placed him fifth all-time in Seahawks program history.

Harriet Tuson, Freshman, Dorset, England
  • Clinched All-America honors in the women's 600-Meter Run and in the women's 800-Meter Run.
  • Ran a 2:16.59 in the 800m Prelim to take first in her heat.
  • Clocked a 1:33.47 in the 600m Prelim to take first in her heat.
  • The 600m Run finals will take place Saturday, March 5th at 2:25 p.m.
  • The 800m Run finals will happen on Saturday, March 5th at 3:10 p.m.

Cole Wilson, Freshman, Burgessville, Ontario
  • Earned All-American honors in the men's heptathlon after an sixth-place finish with a personal best 4,801 points.
  • Set personal bests in the shot put, 60m hurdles, and long jump
  • Also competed in the men's high jump in which he cleared 1.96m to place 20th.
  • Now sits fourth in program history for the heptathlon.
