The No. 2 Keiser women's tennis team defeated Division II Embry-Riddle by the final score of 5-2 on Tuesday evening. Keiser earned the first four points of the match to secure the win.
- Coopersmith wasted little time on court one with a 6-2, 6-1 victory to bring Keiser ahead 2-0.
- Shortly after, Vidanovic showed dominance with a 6-0, 6-4 win on court three.
- After the Eagles picked up their first point on court four, Perez Flores secured the win for KU with a 6-2, 6-2 win on court five.
- Companion picked up her first win as a Seahawk on court two with a 6-1, 6-4 win.
- In the last match of the day, Nouws earned a 7-5, 6-1 win on court six.
"Happy to get the spring season started with a good road win," said Head Coach,
Daniel Finn, "I did not think we started with our best efforts in doubles but the girls rallied, focused, and won the big points when it mattered today. The main strength today was our energy. The girls did a good job bringing energy and competing throughout which is why we came out with a win. As with most early-season matches, we saw a lot of areas where we can improve and we will start working on those right away while getting ready for the weekend."
The Seahawks will host the Warner Royals at Patch Reef Park in Boca Raton, Florida, on Feb. 5.
