The Seahawks used a strong fourth quarter to put away the Thomas Night Hawks on Monday as the Keiser women's basketball team won, 64-57. Kennedy Schlabach and Shykim Gillion combined for 35 points as the Seahawks picked up their first conference win at home this season.

First Quarter

Thomas (GA) 20, Keiser 13
  • Shykim Gillion posted the first score of the game with a made layup at the 9:27 mark (2-0).
  • Kennedy Schlabach gave KU a three-point lead with her first 3-pointer of the game, 5-2 (6:46).
  • The Night Hawks went on a 7-0 run to take a 10-5 lead with 3:42 left in the first.
  • TU extended its lead to 17-10 with 1:36 on the game clock following a layup by Jade Studamire.
  • A three-point play by Taylor Jones cut the Night Hawk's lead to four, 17-13.
  • Thomas (Ga.) scored back-to-back buckets to take a seven-point lead after one. 

Second Quarter

  • A made free throw by Lenise Santiago extended the Night Hawk's lead to eight, 21-13, with 9:09 on the game clock.
  • Keiser went on a 5-0 run to pull within three, 21-18 (7:46).
  • A 3-pointer by TU's Mahogany Menefee with 6:57 made it 26-18.
  • Back-to-back buckets by the Seahawks cut the TU lead to 26-22 (4:27).
  • A 9-2 run by the Night Hawks extended TU's lead to 11, 35-24, with 2:30 left in the half.
  • Keiser used a 4-0 run to close out the half down, 35-28.

Third Quarter

Thomas (GA) 49, Keiser 48
  • Elliana Schaefer cut the lead to three, 35-31, to start the second half with a 3-pointer (9:44).
  • A layup by Gillion made it a one-possession game as TU's lead was cut to 38-35 with 7:25 on the game clock.
  • Keiser tied the game, 43-43, following a layup by Schlabach with 3:37 remaining in the third.
  • Schlabach gave the Seahawks their first lead of the game since the first quarter with a 3-pointer, 48-47 (00:44).
  • TU's Dejah Wilson gave the lead back to the Night Hawks as time expired, 49-48.

Fourth Quarter

Keiser 64, Thomas (GA) 57
  • The Seahawks used a 10-2 run to open the fourth quarter and take a 58-51 lead with 3:16 left in the game. 
  • The Night Hawks ratted off four straight puts to cut the Seahawk lead to 58-55 with 1:39 on the clock. 
  • Keiser out-scored Thomas (Ga.), 6-2, in the final 1:11 to seal the victory, 64-57.

  • This win improves Keiser to 8-4 overall (2-3 SUN).
  • The win marks the Seahawks second consecutive in league action.
  • It marked the Seahawk's third straight win.
  • The conference win at home is the first for the Seahawks this season.
