No. 20 Football Defeats Warner 56-7; Honors Those Impacted by Breast Cancer

The No. 20-ranked Keiser football team turned in a complete performance defeating the Warner Royals at home, 56-7, on Saturday. The Seahawks produced 243 yards on the ground and 240 yards through the air to earn the team's third straight victory. Defensively, Keiser held the Royals to just 177 yards of total offense in the 49-point win.

Those honored were Cynthia Davenport (aunt of Akarri Davis and Amarri Davis), Angela Wilson and Stephanie Manuel (aunts of Arnesio Rosado), Danielle Foster (mother of Tyler Foster), Maria Suarez Cantillo (mother of Alessandro Cantillo), Fannie Mae Long (mother of Keiser Assistant Registrar Sandra Deloatch), Susan Burns (aunt of Shaw Pomianowski), Suzi McCreery  (Keiser Flagship Director of Public & Media Relations). 
 
 

First Quarter

Keiser 25, Warner 7
  • Keiser got off to the fastest possible start when Jaden Meizinger took the opening kickoff 97 yards to the house. 
  • Chance Gagnon added a field goal on Keiser's next possession.
  • Wendol Philord extended the KU lead when he plucked a Warner pass out the air and returned it 41 yards for a pick-six. Matthew Disisto threw a pass to Wyatt Brooks for a successful two-point conversion to give Keiser an 18-0 lead with 8:40 left in the first quarter.
  • Less than four minutes later, Marques Burgess capped off a four-play, 73-yard drive with a 15-yard TD run, extending the Seahawk lead to 25 with 4:06 on the game clock.
  • The score was Burgess' 50th rushing touchdown of his career.
  • The Royals got on the board at the end of the quarter as Elijah Palmer caught a one-yard touchdown pass from Cohen Begue.

Second Quarter

Keiser 46, Warner 7
  • Keiser kept it's momentum going in the second quarter on the team's first drive of the quarter with a three-yard rushing score by Shea Spencer (13:53). 
  • Later in the quarter, Jaden Meizinger scored his second touchdown of the day with a nine-yard rushing score, making it 39-7 in favor of the Seahawks with 1:35 left in the second.
  • The Seahawks put more points on the board just before halftime with a 35-yard strike to Jaylen Arnold for his 25th-career touchdown reception (school record). 

Third Quarter

Keiser 49, Warner 7
  • With the game well in hand, Bryce Veasley took over the signal-calling duties in the second half.
  • He and running back Maurico Porcha guided Keiser to the team's second field goal of the game with a 51-yard, 10-play drive that took up 3:57 on the game clock.
  • Chance Gagnon kicked a 33-yard field goal to push the Keiser lead to 49-7 with 5:27 left in the third. 
  • The KU defense ramped things up, holding the Royals to 30 yards of total offense in the third quarter.

Fourth Quarter

Keiser 56, Warner 7
  • With 11:09 left in the game, Veasley punched in a one-yard rushing score to put KU up 56-7.
  • On the ensuing possession, Warner's Evan Eshbach was picked off by KU's Hunter Hargrave with 10:11 left in the game.
  • Warner could only muster 16 yards of offense in the fourth.
  • Running back Tyler Willis came in during the fourth quarter and totaled 71 yards on 10 carries for the Seahawks.
  • The Seahawks closed out the game with the victory formation (on the WU nine-yard line) to run out the clock.

  • With the win, Keiser improves to 6-0 all-time versus the Warner.
  • The Seahawks are now 3-0 all-time versus WU in West Palm Beach, Fla.
  • The Seahawks are now 23-3 all-time in conference action.
  • Keiser is 20-3 all-time at the KU Multi-Purpose Field.
  • With the win, KU remains atop the Sun Conference Standings.
  • Scoring 56 points on Saturday, Keiser is now averaging 47.67 points per game versus WU all-time.
  • With the win, Keiser improves to 37-12 all-time.
  • Marques Burgess rushed for 37 yards on just four carries, including a 15-yard touchdown run - the run marked his 50th rushing touchdown as a Seahawk.
  • Jaden Meizinger accounted for two touchdowns on Saturday, including a 97-yard kick return for a touchdown.
  • The return was the longest in school history.
  • Wide out Myles Henderson registered his second 100-yard game at Keiser, hauling in 102 yards on five catches. 
  • Jaylen Arnold notched his 25th-career touchdown catch with a 35-yard grab late in the second quarter.
