The Keiser wrestling team split their matches at the Seahawk Duals, falling to Truett McConnell, 25-13, before defeating Montreat, 29-20 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

The highlights of the day came at 125, 157, and 285. At 125, Riley Stevens picked up a major decision over Brandon Navixay (TMU), 10-1 before earning a fall over Coy Reid (Montreat) in just 1:47. George Zertopoulis fought through two tough matches with a 5-2 decision win over Chase Bond (TMU) and a decision win over Daniel Bennett (Montreat), 8-7. At 285, Earnest Johnson had another phenomenal day on the mat, defeating Ethan Powell(TMU) by fall in 4:21 and earning a major decision over Benjamin Austin (Montreat), 15-3. Finally, Patrick Gould picked up his first win as a Seahawk in dominating fashion with a fall win in 39 seconds against No. 13 Landon Chamber(Montreat) at 149 pounds.



"We need to manage the first round better," said Head Coach, Nick Soto. "We were banged up and had multiple guys out this week, but we need to be ready to go in the first round. I'm proud of how the guys responded in the second round, but we need to be ready to go from the first whistle. Great job by E.J (Earnest Johnson), George(Zertopoulis), and Riley(Stevens) with their dominant performances today."
