No. 1 Keiser women's soccer won a double-overtime thriller Sunday afternoon courtesy of a Julia Forslund header in the 105th minute.


.How it Happened
  • Kyoka Koshijima needed just two minutes, striking a ball to the right post before it ricocheted into the net.
  • The Seahawks struck again in the 23rd minute, with Matilda Ovenberger sending a laser off an assist from Koshijima.
  • The Eagles would not be shut out as Katy Hyde made two moves to find the back of the net  in the 27th minute. 
  • ERAU capitalized on a penalty kick opportunity in the 75th minute to tie the game at 2-2.
  • The score would hold the rest of the half to send the game into overtime.
  • After no goals in the first overtime, Julia Forslund headed home the game-winner for Keiser off a corner kick from Fanni Pietikainen in the 105th minute.

Game Notes
  • This was the first meeting between the two teams.
  • Keiser remains undefeated at home in overtime games, improving to a 10-0-1 record.
  • The last time the Seahawks won in overtime was the NAIA National Championship game against William Carey.
  • Koshijima recorded a goal and an assist on the afternoon.
  • The two goals by the Eagles were the first let up by the KU defense all season.
