The Keiser Seahawks improved to 5-0-0 with a 3-0 shutout victory of Warner in the team's Sun Conference opener on Saturday. In their third shutout of the 2021 season, KU moved to 4-0-0 in games away from Arrigo-Vecellio Field. 


.How it Happened
  • Froward Alvaro Jimenez Valera got the scoring started with his second goal of the season in the 42nd minute. Hannu Tam recorded his first assist of the season on the score.
  • Keiser ended the first half out-shooting the Royals 14-5, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime.
  • Esteban Aguilera extended the team's lead in the 52nd minute with his first goal of the season. The goal was set up by Vincent Piwernetz, who was credited with an assist on the play. 
  • Defender Julius Fassbinder netted the Seahawks' third goal of the night in the 89th minute, sealing the victory for KU. Cristobal Montes tallied assist No. 1 of 2021 on the goal.
  • Goalkeeper Felipe Godoy earned shutout No. 3 on the year and the eighth of his Keiser career on Saturday, recording two saves in the win.
  • For the game, Keiser out-shot Warner, 22-7 (14-2 on net).
  • The Seahawks forced WU goalkeeper Woodlerson Cyrius to notch 11 saves in the contest.

Game Notes
  • KU improved to 11-4-2 in Sun Conference openers (since 2005).
  • With tonight's game-winning goal, Jimenez Valera became the fifth different Seahawk to score a game-winner this season (Lucas JacobsLucca CarvalhoHannu TamCristobal Molina Campo).
  • With the win tonight, Godoy improved to 5-0-0 on the year with a 0.60 GAA.
  • KU has now scored 50 goals versus the Royals (dating back to 2005).
  • This was the fifth straight win for the Seahawks over the Royals, as KU has out-scored WU, 19-2, in that span.
