The Keiser Seahawks improved to 6-0-0 on the year with a 2-0 victory at SCAD Savannah on Saturday. KU shut down the Bees, holding the Sun Conference foe to just three shots in the contest. It was the Seahawks' second clean sheet in as many games to start the 2021 Sun Conference campaign.


.How it Happened
  • Freshman Rodrigo Montez Silva scored his second goal of the season in the 41st minute to give the Seahawks a 1-0, first-half lead.
  • On a corner kick by Charlie Hennen, Montez Silva one-timed a shot inside the six, beating goalkeeper Connor Friel for the score. Hennen notched his second assist of 2021 on the score. 
  • KU entered halftime with the one-goal lead.
  • In the first 45 minutes of play, the Seahawks out-shot the Bees, 7-2.
  • In the second half, it was all Keiser as SCAD could only muster one shot in the final frame.
  • The Seahawks scored an insurance goal in the 75th minute with a goal by Lucca Carvalho
  • Lucas Jacobs flicked a header to Carvalho in the area. The freshman struck a low-driving shot past Friel for the 2-0 score. The goal was the third of the season for Carvalho while the assist was the third of the season for Jacobs. Also earning an assist on the goal was Vincent Piwernetz (his second), who chipped a long pass to Jacobs at edge of the area. 
  • The Seahawks ended the game, holding a 16-3 edge in total shots (5-3 on net).
  • Goalkeeper Felipe Godoy improved to 6-0-0 on the year while lowering his GAA to 0.50.
  • Saturday marked the fourth shutout of the season for the Keiser goalkeeper.

Game Notes
  • Saturday's victory was the third straight for the Seahawks over the Bees.
  • With today's game-winning goal, Montez Silva became the sixth different Seahawk to score a game-winner this season (Lucas JacobsAlvaro Jimenez ValeraLucca CarvalhoHannu TamCristobal Molina Campo).
  • With the win, KU is 17-23-6 all-time versus teams from the state of Georgia.
  • The win also extends KU's current streak of consecutive regular-season SUN victories to 13.
