The fourth-ranked Keiser men's lacrosse team saw their season come to a close Friday afternoon as they fell to No. 1 Reinhardt 9-8 in the NAIA Semifinals.
Keiser 1, Reinhardt 3
- Back-to-back goals in the opening five minutes gave the Eagles the early 2-0 advantage.
- Anthony Senior connected with a cutting Cole Stassi to put Keiser on the board and trim the deficit in half, 2-1, at the 6:41 mark.
- Reinhardt tallied one final goal in the period to take a 3-1 advantage into the second.
Keiser 3, Reinhardt 6
- Senior netted the opening goal of the second quarter, cutting the RU lead to one, 3-2, with 13:45 left in the half.
- Reinhardt answered with back-to-back goals to push their lead up to three, 5-2, as 5:55 showed on the clock.
- Hunter East fired back with his 21st goal of the season, trimming the deficit to 5-3 at the 5:24 mark.
- Just as they did in the first quarter, Reinhardt tallied the final goal of the half as the Eagles led 6-3 at the break.
Keiser 4, Reinhardt 7
- Joshua Shields was the lone Seahawk to find the back of the net in the third as the sophomore cut the lead to two, 6-4, at the 9:26 mark.
- For the third straight period, Reinhardt recorded the final goal as they took a 7-4 lead into the fourth.
Keiser 8, Reinhardt 9
- Dylan Sharpe brought the Seahawks back to within two, 7-5, with his first goal of the game at the 12:14 mark.
- The two sides traded the next four goals before Hunter East drew Keiser within one, 9-8, with 5:21 remaining.
- Keiser gained possession with :30 ticks left on the clock but failed to net either of their two shots, falling to the Eagles 9-8.
- 2: East and Senior tallied two goals apiece to lead Keiser.
- 2: Gavin Goeden caused a team-best two turnovers.
