No. 3 Keiser University repeated as NAIA National Champions after defeating No. 1 William Carey 2-1 in overtime on Monday evening.
Matilda Ovenberger was the hero of the night, scoring the game-winner in the 95th minute off a great cross by
Maja Henriksson.

- Keiser had the first scoring chance in the third minute when Ovenberger was taken down in the box for a penalty kick.
- However, Ovenberger's attempt to the right side was saved.
- A costly give-away and missed communication by the Seahawks defense led to the opening goal by William Carey in the 33rd minute.
- KU equalized in the 41st minute as Emma Holmskov headed the ball home off a corner by M. Henriksson.
- The contest remained deadlock at the half with the Seahawks holding a commanding 6-2 edge on shots.
- Keiser nearly took the lead in the 57th minute but Larisa Weber's volley went off the crossbar and cleared out of danger.
- Each team locked in defensively down the stretch with the championship heading to overtime.
- Four minutes into the first overtime, M. Henriksson found a wide-open Ovenberger in the middle of the box, who smashed the ball home, sending the Seahawks into a frenzy as they repeated as NAIA National Champions.
- Keiser became the first team since Lee University to win back-to-back National Championships. The Flames claimed four straight from 2008-11.
- The Seahawks moved to 2-1 in championship games, playing in the last three.
- Keiser improved to 25-11-2 all-time in the NAIA National Tournament.
- This was the second meeting in the final game between the Crusaders and Seahawks.
