In their first-ever road playoff game, the No. 4 Keiser football team saw their season come to a close as they fell to No. 3 Lindsey Wilson, 38-14, in the NAIA Football Championship Series Semifinals Saturday afternoon.

The road contest was the Seahawks first outside the state of Florida in 580 days.

Keiser concluded their third season in program history with a 9-1 overall record; including their second consecutive conference championship and appearance in the NAIA playoffs.


First Quarter
Keiser 14, Lindsey Wilson 14
  • The Seahawks marched 80-yards in 2:53 for the opening score of the game.
  • On a fourth-and-two at the LWC 40-yard line, Eli Mathews hooked up with Caleb Walls for a 37-yard catch down the sideline.
  • On the ensuing play, Jaylen Arnold out-jumped a Blue Raider in the end zone for a three-yard touchdown as Keiser led 6-0 with 12:07 remaining. Following the Logan Robinson extra-point, it was 7-0.
  • Lindsey Wilson answered back just three plays later, going 65 yards in 1:13, tying the game at seven-apiece with 10:54 to go.
  • Keiser went back on top after going 90-yards on 13 plays with Javontres Autry plunging it in from seven yards out to lead 14-7 with 4:51 showing.
  • The Blue Raiders evened the game on a 12-yard touchdown pass with 1:03 remaining in the opening quarter.
  • In the opening quarter, Mathews went 11-of-12 for 126 yards and a touchdown while Walls had two catches for 45-yards.

Second Quarter
Keiser 14, Lindsey Wilson 24
  • Keiser trailed for the first time this season when Ian Sauter connected on a 28-yard field goal with 9:41 remaining in the opening half.
  • A costly offsides call on the Seahawks on fourth-and-one at the LWC 45-yard line with under a minute left gave the home team new life.
  • The Blue Raiders took advantage with a six-yard touchdown pass with just six seconds left to lead 24-14 at the half.
  • The Seahawks were held scoreless in the quarter for just a second time this season, the last coming in the fourth against Southeastern on Oct. 10, 2020.

Third Quarter
Keiser 14, Lindsey Wilson 31
  • The lone points of the quarter came on a Lindsey Wilson 13 play, 99-yard drive which was capped off by a 36-yard touchdown pass with 5:45 to go as LWC led 31-14.
  • Keiser was last held scoreless in back-to-back quarters on Sept. 21, 2019 against Reinhardt.

Fourth Quarter
Keiser 14, Lindsey Wilson 38
  • The Seahawks threatened to open the fourth quarter as they got as far as the LWC three-yard line, but Mathews failed to connect with Arnold on fourth down, turning it over on downs.
  • Lindsey Wilson took the next drive 97 yards in 12 plays to cap off the final score of the day and increase their lead to 38-14 with 7:24 left.
  • Keiser was held scoreless for three consecutive quarters for the first time since Oct. 27, 2018 against Ave Maria as the Blue Raiders went on to win 38-14.
