No. 2 Women's Lacrosse Clinches MSC South Division Title With Victory Over No. 7 Life

The No. 2 women's lacrosse team clinched the Mid South Conference South Division Championship with their 14-8 victory over No. 7 Life on Friday afternoon.

This was just the second home game of the season for the Seahawks, having played their last seven on the road.

First Half
Keiser 11, Life 3
  • After trading goals to open the game, Cat Raymond tallied back-to-back goals, sparking a 4-0 run as Keiser led 5-1 with 23:53 remaining in the first half.
  • Raymond completed her hat-trick which was sandwiched between a pair of Life tallies as the Seahawks remained in front, 6-3 with 12:56 to go.
  • Melanie Brown scored the first and last goal during a 5-0 bust, completing her hat-trick as Keiser led 11-3 at the half.
  • In addition to Raymond and Brown, Madison Andrews bagged a hat-trick in the half.

Second Half
Keiser 14, Life 8
  • Each team scored a single goal in the opening ten minutes as the scoreboard favored the home team, 12-4.
  • The Running Eagles then tallied four unanswered goals to get within four, 12-8 with 10:39 left in regulation.
  • KU accounted for the final two goals of the contest, holding off Life University, 14-8.
  • Madalyn Huber scored two of the three Keiser goals in the half.

KU Highlights
  • 3: Keiser had three players finish with hat-tricks led by a game-best four goals from Raymond.
  • 6: Talia Myers led the Seahawks with six draw controls.
  • 7: Rebecca Gibson scooped up a game-best seven ground balls.
  • 14: Jessica Covell made a season-best 14 saves.
  • 23: Each team finished with 23 clears.
  • 35: Keiser fired 35 shots in the game with 23 going on target.
