Behind hat-tricks from Melanie Brown and Madison Andrews, the No. 3 Keiser women's lacrosse team picked up their second top-10 road win of the season with a 13-9 victory over No. 9 Life in a Mid-South Conference showdown Saturday afternoon. 

Madalyn Huber and Jessica Covell became the program's all-time leaders in ground balls (124) and saves (232) respectively during the win.

With the victory, the Seahawks are now one win away from matching their best start in program history, which came in 2018, 7-0.

First Half
Keiser 6, Life 5
  • Andrews opened the scoring just 35 seconds in with her 10th goal of the year to put Keiser in front 1-0.
  • Cat Raymond and Brown followed with their first goals of the afternoon as Keiser stretched the lead to 3-0 with 24:44 remaining.
  • Life responded with a 4-0 run to take their only lead of the day, 4-3, at the 15:47 mark.
  • The Seahawks answered with a 3-0 stretch, capped off by a Leanza Gibaud goal with 9:30 showing on the clock, to reclaim the lead, 6-4.
  • The Running Eagles tallied the final goal of the half as the Seahawks took a 6-5 advantage into the break.

Second Half
Keiser 13, Life 9
  • After Life evened the score, 6-6, a minute into the half, Keiser ripped off seven straight goals to take a 13-6 advantage at the 9:44 mark.
  • Andrews paced the surge with her second and third goals of the day, marking her second hat-trick of the campaign.
  • The Running Eagles put a halt to the run with three consecutive goals, but it wasn't enough as the Seahawks prevailed, 13-9.

  • 2: Brown and Gibaud dished out two assists apiece to lead the Seahawks.
  • 3: Brown and Andrews led the offensive attack with their fifth and second hat-tricks of the season respectively.
  • 6: Huber scooped up a game-best six ground balls as she became the program's all-time leader.
  • 7: Huber caused a single-game school record seven turnovers in the win.
  • 8: The junior won a game-best eight draw controls.
  • 14: Covell notched a game-high 14 saves en route to becoming the program's all-time leader.
