Behind a strong second half performance, the Keiser men's basketball team pushed past their Sun Conference rival, Southeastern, 63-60, Thursday evening. The victory marked a season sweep of the Fire for the Seahawks.




Keiser 23, Southeastern 34

• The defense controlled the pace in the opening four minutes of action, with Keiser clinging to a 8-6 lead.
• Southeastern used an 18-2 run to take their largest lead of the half with a 24-10 lead at the 9:32 mark.
• John Mason finally put a halt to the stretch with an and-one as 8:55 remained in the period, marking the first field goal for Keiser in over 7:21.
• The senior's basket sparked a 9-2 surge for the Seahawks, cutting the deficit down to seven, 26-19, following a Voshon Mack basket with 6:01 left in the half.
• Southeastern responded with eight of the final 12 points of the period to take a 34-23 advantage into the break.

Keiser 63, Southeastern 60

• Following a Southeastern basket to open the second half, Antwan Claxton jumpstarted an 18-4 Keiser run as the Seahawks led 41-40 with 14:41 remaining.
• During the surge, Keiser connected on their first three-pointer of the contest and took their first lead.
• After Southeastern broke the Seahawks run with a basket, Keiser responded with a 17-7 stretch to take their largest lead of the contest, 58-49, following a Michael Gavin three at the 6:49 mark.
• The Fire totaled 11 of the next 16 points to get to within three as 1:13 remained in the contest, forcing a Keiser timeout.
• Keiser's defense held strong over the final minute of play as they held the Fire scoreless to pull out a 63-60 victory.

• 2: Claxton and Mason were the lone Seahawks in double figures with 14 and 13 respectively.
• 5: Claxton dished out a game-best five dimes in the victory.
• 7: After going 0-for-9 from three in the first half, Keiser connected on seven triples in the second period.
• 8: Quinton Glaspie hauled in eight rebounds to lead the Seahawks.
