A CoreVon Lott layup with :07 ticks left on the clock elevated the Keiser men's basketball team to an 83-81 victory over No. 23 Warner Saturday evening. The victory marked the Seahawks fourth straight win and their first victory over a Top 25 team this season.

How it Happened

First Half
Keiser 36, Warner 44
  • Warner used a three-point barrage in the opening 2:26 to take an early 9-0 lead and force a Keiser timeout.
  • Keiser responded out of the stoppage with a 7-0 run to trim to the deficit to two, 9-7, following a wing three from Lott with 16:00 left in the half.
  •  The Royals responded with an 18-9 stretch to push their lead to the largest of the half, 27-16, and force a Keiser timeout with 8:45 remaining in the period.
  • Out of the break, the Seahawks used an 8-0 run to draw within three, 27-24, after an and-one from Marko Radulovic at the 6:38 mark.
  • A Logan West jumper put an end to the Keiser stretch and sparked an 8-2 run for the Royals as their lead grew to 35-26 as 3:38 remained in the period.
  •  Antwan Claxton put a halt to the Royals surge with a layup and jumpstarted a 10-4 Keiser run as the Seahawks once again drew within three, 39-36, at the 1:31 mark.
  • Warner closed out the half with five straight points to take a 44-36 lead into the break.

Second Half
Keiser 83, Warner 81
  • A pair of free throws by Michael Gavin capped off an 8-0 start to the half for the Seahawks as they got within two, 44-42, as 16:47 remained in the contest.
  • After both sides traded scores, Claxton evened the contest at 55-55 with a layup at the 12:30 mark.
  • Following a basket from both sides, Warner reeled off six consecutive points to push their lead to 63-57 with 10:42 left in the contest.
  • Keiser countered with a 7-0 run to take their first lead of the afternoon, 64-63, following a Quinton Glaspie layup at the 8:45 mark.
  • Out of a Warner timeout, the Royals jumped back in front, 78-69, with a 15-5 stretch as 3:52 remained in the half.
  • Keiser refused to go away as they responded with an 8-0 run to trim the deficit to one, 78-77, at the 2:30 mark.
  • Lott capped off the stretch for the Seahawks with fifth triple of the game.
  • Darryl Mercer slowed the Seahawks momentum briefly with the Royals 10th three-pointer of the game as they led 81-77 with 2:02 remaining in the contest.
  • Following a Warner timeout, Glaspie scored four straight points to even the score at 81-81 with :51 ticks left on the clock.
  • On the ensuing Royals possession, Glaspie swiped Joseph Martz's pass and later found a cutting Lott for the game-winning layup with :07 left in the game.
  • Warner attempted one final shot to try and force overtime, but came up short as the Seahawks knocked off the Royals 83-81.
