Maja Henriksson earned a place on the 2021 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America NAIA Women's Soccer First Team as announced on Tuesday afternoon. Junior midfielder,
Kyoka Koshijima joins Henriksson as a second team member.
The 2021 Academic All-America® Men's Soccer Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Maja Henriksson, Sophomore, Gothenburg, Sweden
- Obtained a 3.85 GPA Business Administration with a focus in International Business
- Garnered SUN Conference Player of the Year for a second straight year
- Earned First Team All-Conference honors for a third consecutive year
- Ranks third on the team with six goals scored in 14 games played
- Scored two goals in two wins for the Seahawks against Thomas on September 30, and against Warner on October 21
- Anchored the backline for nine of the KU shutouts
Kyoka Koshijima, Junior, Kanazawa City, Japan
- Earned a 3.68 GPA studying Business Administration with a focus in Marketing
- Earned First Team All-Conference honors for a third consecutive year as a midfielder
- Led the team in assists (10) and finished second in points (28)
- She also ranks second for goals scored on the season with nine
- Currently sits fourth on the team for time played with 1486 minutes on the pitch
- Garnered SUN Offensive Player of the Week honors in week 10 when she registered two goals and three assists over two games
