Trailing by as many as 17 points, the Keiser women's basketball team battled back to make it a two-score game but could not take the lead, falling 62-58 to Grace (Ind.) on Friday afternoon.





A missed trey by Chiara De Virgilio with 19 seconds left in the game and Keiser trailing 61-55, resulted in a defensive rebound for the Lancers and a trip to the line for Peyton Murphy. After making just one of the two attempts, GC's lead was pushed to a three-score game with 11 seconds left to play.

Grace (Ind.) 24, Keiser 13

• A 9-2 run by the Lancers with 6:58 left in the first gave GC a seven-point lead.
• A layup by Shykim Gillion cut the deficit to five (11-6) with 5:52 on the clock.
• A 3-pointer by Kaylee Patton pushed the Lancer lead to 10, 16-6, with 4:59 remaining in the first.
• Two straight buckets by Angela Denis brought the Seahawks within seven, 16-9 (2:52).
• The Lancers outscored the Seahawks 8-4 in the final minutes of the first to take a 24-13 lead. 

Grace (Ind.) 34, Keiser 26

• A 6-0 run to start the second, pushed the GC lead to 30-13 (17 points) with 9:13 on the clock.
• The Seahawks responded with a 7-0 run, capped off with a layup by Chiara De Virgilio to pull KU within 10, 30-20 (4:15).
• The Lancer maintained a double-digit lead until a 3-pointer by Gillion cut the Lancer lead to 34-26. 

Grace (Ind.) 53, Keiser 39

• An "and-1" converted by Kaitlyn Fertig cut GC's lead to five, 34-29, with 7:56 remaining in the third.
• After a layup by GC's Maddie Ryman, Denis responded with a bucket in the paint to bring the deficit to five once again, 36-31 (7:11).
• The Lancer had a 17-8 advantage on the scoreboard for the remainder of the quarter as GC took a 53-39 lead with 10 minutes left to play.

Grace (Ind.) 62, Keiser 58

• De Virgilio hit a jumper with 7:24 left in the game to cap off a 7-0 run, 53-46.
• Denis made it a five-point game, 56-51, with a layup at the 4:37 mark. 
• Ryman pushed the Lancer lead back up to eight, 59-51, with 3:22 remaining.
• A layup by Gillion and a made free throw by Elise Ellison-Coons pulled the Seahawks within four, 59-55, with 00:39 left in the game.
• After GC extended its lead to seven, 62-55, a trey by De Virgilio made it a four-point game again (00:09).
