The Keiser Seahawks fell to the Florida National Conquistadors, 61-59, on Tuesday evening. Despite leading for over 37 minutes, the Seahawks were unable to come away with the victory, as FNU scored the game-winning bucket with just five second left to play.

How it Happened



First Half

Keiser 36, Florida National 23
  • The Seahawks opened the game with a 15-0 run capped off with a layup by Antonio Spencer (13:37).
  • FNU cut it to six, 15-9, following a layup by Sandro Noel with 8:52 left in the first half.
  • Shaquille Harris pushed the KU lead back to double-digits with a 3-pointer at the 7:11 mark, 20-9.
  • A trey by Marko Radulovic with 3:16 on the clock gave KU a 30-15.
  • FNU's Jeffrey Hernandez pulled the Counquistadors within 10, 33-23, with a fast break layup with 10 second left in the half. 
  • Jalen Scott hit a 3-point buzzer-beater to send the Seahawks into the half up, 36-23.

Second Half

Florida National 61, Keiser 59
  • A 7-0 run by FNU to start the second half, cut the Seahawks lead to six, 36-30.
  • A 3-pointer by Florida National's Nicolas Girondin made it a four-point game, 37-33 (17:15).
  • Antwan Claxton brought the KU lead to eight, 43-35, with a layup at the 14:47 mark.
  • After an FNU bucket, Claxton made the score 45-38 with a bucket in the paint (12:32).
  • KU held into its lead until 3:37 left to play when a layup by Hernandez gave the Conquistadors their first lead of the game, 53-52.
  • A traditional 3-point play by Harris gave the Seahawks their lead back, 55-53 (3:14).
  • With the score tied, 59-59, FNU Ryan Sanchez drained the go-ahead layup with 00:05 left to play.

  • With the loss, Keiser dropped to 5-6 on the year.
  • With the loss, the Seahawks are now 8-4 all-time versus the Conquistadors.
  • Keiser is now 5-3 all-time versus Florida National at the Student Life Center.
