Behind a career-high 23 points from
Chiara De Virgilio, the Keiser women's basketball team rallied to beat Brewton-Parker College, 75-73, Tuesday afternoon in the first game of the 2021 Keiser Thanksgiving Classic.

With the Seahawks trailing 57-52,
Elliana Schaefer knocked down three consecutive triples to give Keiser a 61-60 lead as 7:22 remained in the contest.
Keiser 11, Brewton-Parker 21
- Leading 7-6 at the 5:44 mark, Brewton-Parker compiled a 14-2 run to take their largest lead of the contest.
- Shykim Gillion stopped the bleeding with a three-pointer to close out the quarter, cutting the deficit to 21-11.
Keiser 36, Brewton-Parker 40
- Keiser opened the second quarter the same way they ended the first, with a three-pointer.
- Kaitlyn Fertig netted her first of the game to trim the deficit to seven, 21-14.
- After the Barons pushed their lead back to 12, 31-19, the Seahawks used an 8-2 run to draw within six with 4:43 left on the clock.
- The Barons answered with four straight points but a jumper by Elise Ellison-Coons followed by a De Virgilio triple cut the deficit to three, 35-32, with just over three minutes left.
- That would be as close as the Seahawks could get in the half as Brewton-Parker took a 40-36 lead into the break.
Keiser 49, Brewton-Parker 55
- A 6-2 surge to open the second half by the Seahawks leveled the score, 42-42, at the 6:57 mark.
- The Barons responded once again, this time with a 10-1 run to stretch their lead to nine, 52-43, with 2:54 left in the quarter.
- A split at the line by Ellison-Coons dropped the deficit to six, 55-49, as the contest headed into the final quarter of play.
Keiser 75, Brewton-Parker 73
- With the Seahawks trailing 57-52, Elliana Schaefer knocked home three consecutive triples to give Keiser a 61-60 lead as 7:22 remained in the contest.
- The lead marked the first for the Seahawks since the 6:53 mark of the first quarter.
- After Brewton-Parker leveled the score, 63-63, Keiser used a 6-0 run to reach their largest lead of the contest, 67-63, with 5:06 left.
- Gillion netted back-to-back baskets to close out the run.
- The Barons regained the lead,70-67, with a 7-0 spurt but De Virgilio stopped the bleeding for Keiser with a triple from the left wing to tie the game.
- Fertig followed with her third three-pointer of the afternoon to give KU the 73-70 lead as 2:20 showed on the clock.
- Three consecutive free throws by the Barons knotted the score up once again, 73-73, with 1:33 to play.
- Splits at the line by Gillion and De Virgilio gave the Seahawks the 75-73 lead and the Barons turned it over on their last possession, leading to Keiser's seventh win of the year.

- The victory improved the Seahawks to 7-2 overall and 5-0 in non-conference play.
- With the win, Keiser is now 2-0 all-time against the Barons.
