Keiser Spirit Squad Shines as Miami Dolphin’s Halftime Performers

On Sunday, November 7, the Keiser Spirit Squad had the experience of a lifetime, performing at halftime of the Miami Dolphins game versus the Houston Texans.

The Seahawks joined the Dolphins Cheerleaders as part of the halftime show, performing a routine both squads rehearsed together the day before.

"This was a tremendous opportunity to represent Seahawk Nation outside of our campus and to be able to see what it takes to become pro if that is their dream after college," KU Head Spirit Squad Coach Laura Pucker said.

Following a first half in which the Dolphins took a 17-6 lead, Keiser took the field in front of a raucous crowd of over 60,000 fans.

"Taking the field at halftime was nerve-racking as this is the largest stage they have ever performed on," Pucker said. "It was an experience of a lifetime, hopefully in the future, we can do it again."

Despite the nerves, the Seahawk spirit squad dazzled as they took the field and center stage. Their hard work and dedication put the spotlight on both their program as well as Keiser University.

"This was an amazing opportunity that let the world know we do have a spirit program at Keiser University," said Pucker. "This opportunity also let our student-athletes see that they can do anything as long as they put their mind to it."

With it all said and done, there were two victors on that cool and sunny Sunday afternoon – the Miami Dolphins defeated the Texans, 17-9, and the Keiser Seahawks Spirit Squad made an unforgettable impact and shined a huge light on Seahawk Nation.

"Our team made the most of this experience, seized the moment, and understood that they may never have an opportunity like this again," said Pucker. "The performance on an NFL field, doing this together as a team (we are fairly new), and seeing a large contingent of Keiser supporters, made them feel the family atmosphere and understand what Seahawk Nation is all about."
